REGISTERED NURSE – PACU

Millcreek Community Hospital is seeking a full time RN for its PACU. (Day shift with no call)

As a nurse in our PACU, or postoperative care unit, you will be responsible for caring for patients after surgery.

Upon a patient’s arrival in the PACU, you are informed on the patient’s post-surgery condition and any complications that may have arisen.  You will be responsible for assessing the patient: checking vital signs, pain, the site of incision, temperature and respiration. You will develop a thorough knowledge of pain medication.

As a PACU nurse you will be responsible for knowing advanced cardiac life support and you will be expected to know what to do if a patient has cardiac issues. You will also be responsible for rousing a patient from anesthesia after the patient has been admitted into the PACU.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: Associate’s Degree

Minimum Experience:  Sufficient previous clinical as an RN.

Req. Certification/Registration: Registration and current RN license in state where employed; CPR certification, PALS, ACLS

Physical Demands: Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking, Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients.  Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
