LECOM Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine offers a complete range of orthopedic, sports medicine and integrative medicine services for the everyday athlete as well as varsity, college and professional players. Our doctors are also the team physicians for the Erie BayHawks of the NBA G-League, Mercyhurst University Varsity Sports, Mercyhurst Preparatory School Sports and Corry High School Sports.
Anthony J. Ferretti, D.O., Orthopedic Surgery
Dr. Ferretti received his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is board certified in Orthopedics and is Clinical Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM), Surgery and Orthopedics at LECOM.
Patrick F. Leary, D.O., FAOASM, Sports & Integrative Medicine
Dr. Leary, Sports Medicine Specialist and Director of the Sports Medicine Fellowship Program at the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM), received his Osteopathic Degree from the University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCUMB) and completed his post graduate education at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital in Akron, Ohio. Dr. Leary is board certified in Family Medicine and obtained a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine as well as Geriatrics.
Dr. Leary was previously the team physician at the University of Notre Dame and past president of his specialty society, the AOASM. He specializes in ultrasound guided injections, including viscosupplementation, prolotherapy and platelet rich plasma (PRP) for those wanting to avoid total joint surgery. His non- surgical, non-medication approach to aging injuries is complemented by personal health adjustments of sleep, exercise, nutrition and mental health. He has published on Concussion, ACL Prevention, Mononucleosis, Mental Health in College Sports and the Aging Athlete.
Christopher Rial, D.O., Sports & Integrative Medicine
Dr. Rial is a graduate of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his Family Medicine Residency at Washington Hospital in Washington, PA and completed the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship with the LECOM Sports Medicine practice. Dr. Rial has worked as part of the LECOM Sports Medicine team providing physician services for the Erie BayHawks, Mercyhurst College and local sports program in the Washington, PA area. As an undergraduate, he played with the St. Vincent College Varsity Baseball Team.
Joshua A. Tuck, D.O., M.S., Orthopedic Surgery
Dr. Tuck, a specialist in Orthopedic Surgery with a dual fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy, received his medical degree from the University of New England. After completing a 5-year Orthopedic Residency at Millcreek Community Hospital, he went on to complete a Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Memorial Medical Center during which time he served as a team physician for the Boston Red Sox Organization.
