    Matthew Charles “Casey” Becker, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FSVM, was recently named Chairman of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine and the Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at the LECOM Institute for Successful Living in Erie. He is also the founder and president of Panvascular Consulting Group – a physician run organization dedicated to post-fellowship, cardiovascular procedural proctoring and training in emerging cardiovascular technologies since 2013.

    Dr. Becker graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in biochemistry and earned his Doctor of Medicine from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Duke University Medical Center and then fellowships in cardiovascular medicine, peripheral vascular intervention, and structural heart therapies at Cleveland Clinic Foundation – where he also served as Chief Fellow. Dr. Becker founded the Peripheral Vascular and Structural Heart Disease programs at the former Saint Vincent HVI where he completed over 400 PVD interventions, 100 TAVR, 60 Watchman LAAO, and 300+ venous procedures annually.

    Serving as principal investigator for numerous clinical trials ranging from pharmacology agents to interventional prototypes, Dr. Becker’s site has frequently led enrollment nationally and internationally. He collaborates with numerous structural and peripheral vascular device companies on the innovation of prototypes and their delivery to the market space having established numerous patents. In addition, Dr. Becker has innovated nascent interventional techniques to address unmet clinical needs in the cardiac and vascular patient population. Most recently developing a new, minimally-invasive catheter-based technique for treating life threatening tricuspid valve endocarditis in critically ill patients.

    Dr. Becker is a Fellow of and serves on numerous committees in the ACC, SCAI, and SVM. He is an active member of the Manuscript Review Committees of numerous peer-review journals including Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, American Journal of Cardiology, and The New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Becker has had numerous articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals, including the American Heart Journal, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and Endovascular Today. He has also contributed numerous book chapters including Topol’s Interventional Cardiology and the Cleveland Clinic Cardiology Manual.

    He is a frequent lecturer at numerous national and international medical conferences.
