Wonderful experience! After years at a place that wouldn't take me seriously, Dr McCarthy was a breath of fresh air. Not only would she let me try the medication I requested, but also helped schedule further testing to make sure there are no other underlying issues. Very open communication in this office and made sure I knew everything my meds and future testing entailed. Along with discussing my previous providers misdiagnoseses. Anyways love this office.

Everyone has their own experience; I think Dr. McCarthy has been great. She works with you and listens. She’s easy to talk to and gives concise information on what needs to be improved. After my first appointment she corrected my medication, which literally changed my life. Since then, she has followed up every few months. Everyone in the front office has always been extremely kind and helpful. They accept all insurances, and it is impressive how quickly new patients can get appointments with the sheer amount of people they work with. They also offer virtual visits. Choosing a psychiatrist is a very important decision, so please don’t let other reviews dissuade you from considering her.

My son was a patient of Dr. McCarthy. He had his license taken away by his neurologist because of seizures. After eight months he was able to get his license back and his neurologist signed off. Dr. McCarthy refused to cooperate with the state to get his license back. The first time she skipped questions on the form, the next time she didn’t sign it. And each time she worded one question so he could not get the license back. He sent letters to her from his therapist and his neurologist so that she could see he was in a good place to get the license back. His neurologist even called the office twice to see if they could get her to cooperate. That did not matter to her. His mental health was suffering because he could not get his independence back. I made phone calls on his behalf and was hung up on. There’s no communication in the office whatsoever. He was able to find another psychiatrist whom he had seen in the past and within two days he had his license back. I cannot tell you the difference this made for him. He was even working with state representatives to help him get the license back and she would not cooperate with anybody. The lack of compassion that she had for him was astonishing. I am very grateful for the new psychiatrist and the state representatives that helped him get his license back so quickly. The mental health system in this country needs to change. Dr. McCarthy and her staff showed no compassion whatsoever. In the end he was able to find a psychiatrist who cared.
