Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Optician to join our team. The Optician will assist customers in selecting and fitting eyewear, interpret prescriptions, and ensure optimal visual performance and comfort. This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

• Greet customers and assess their eyewear needs.

• Provide professional advice on frame styles, lens types, and treatments based on prescription and lifestyle.

2. Prescription Interpretation:

• Interpret and verify prescriptions from optometrists or ophthalmologists.

• Advise on lens options such as single-vision, bifocal, progressive, or specialty lenses.

3. Eyewear Fitting and Adjustments:

• Assist customers in selecting frames that suit their facial features and preferences.

• Measure and fit eyewear accurately, including adjusting frames for proper alignment and comfort.

4. Sales and Inventory Management:

• Process sales transactions and maintain accurate records.

• Track and manage inventory levels to ensure an adequate selection of frames and lenses.

5. Repairs and Maintenance:

• Perform minor repairs and adjustments to glasses and sunglasses.

• Ensure quality control by inspecting completed eyewear for accuracy and durability.

6. Administrative Duties:

• Maintain customer records and follow up on orders or repairs.

• Collaborate with team members and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).

• Certification or licensure as an Optician (preferred).

• Strong understanding of eyewear products, lens technologies, and optical measurements.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Sales or retail experience in a similar role is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an optical retail or clinic environment.
