The LECOM Institute for Successful Living is currently accepting resumes for a Full Time Ward Clerk / Medical Records Specialist at Saint Mary's at Asbury Ridge, located at 4855 W Ridge Rd, Erie PA.

Duties may include:

• Enter physician orders: to include new admission orders, daily new orders from physician, and daily new orders from Therapy
• Schedule all incoming appointments as ordered by the physician, to include the scheduling of transportation.
• To include all follow up: Dialysis, family requests (i.e. funerals), wound clinics and any other appointment as ordered by a physician.
• To ensure the medical summary and any other related paperwork (i.e. scans, x-rays, test results, labs) is prepared in advance appointments.
• Communicate with front desk and family any appointments - scheduled, changed, or cancelled.
• Provide instruction to all who will be attending the appointment - proper infection control and social distancing guidelines.
• Notify staff of patient appointments, destinations, and times to ensure patient is prepared and ready prior to the appointment.
• Keep track of all inventory sheets from all new admits, and upload into doc library,
• Keep track of Disposition of medications returned to pharmacy and upload into medical records. Prepare disposition of medications and provide to nursing staff for review and signature’s for accuracy
• Notify pharmacy, dietary, Laboratory of all resident that are no longer residing at the facility and also room changes.
• Prepare and print out or down load onto a disk any request for medical records that are ordered or requested by outside entities
• Psyche Visits, Podiatry, Dental: follow up with Psyche, Podiatry, Dental visits, upload doc in doc library and maintain and accurate visit record of the Psyche records will become the responsibility of the Ward Clerk
• Prepare for labs that need drawn the day before they are due and have the information and labs slips ready for the third shift to prepare for the lab draws, including tubes and paperwork. Follow up and track lab results to ensure that the physician is aware of the new lab work results every morning before rounds.
• Physician visits: accountable for maintaining the schedule for physician rounds, providing the Physician with an accurate list of people that need seen, calling the physician 2 weeks before they need seen to inform them that their visit is due.

REQUIREMENTS:

• HS Diploma or GED
• Experience in Healthcare or Medical Records, strongly preferred
• CNA license is a plus, but not required
• Experience with scheduling, answering phones, computer use is required

• Budget and Resource Management: Assist with planning and monitoring the recreation budget, purchasing supplies, and managing program resources responsibly.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with administration, nursing, rehabilitation, social services, and other departments to support residents’ overall well-being and individualized needs.
• Safety and Accessibility: Ensure activities are conducted in a safe, organized, and accessible manner, with appropriate adaptations for residents’ physical and cognitive abilities.
• Continuous Improvement: Solicit resident and family feedback, monitor participation, and continually identify opportunities to improve programming and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Management, Gerontology, Human Services, or a related field preferred.
• Relevant experience in recreation programming, activities coordination, senior living, healthcare, rehabilitation, or a comparable service-oriented environment.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and implement creative, engaging, and inclusive recreational programs.
• Ability to work effectively with older adults and individuals with varying physical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
• Proficiency in maintaining records, preparing activity calendars, and managing multiple priorities.
• Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, and calendar preparation.

The Assistant Director of Nursing is a Registered Nurse (RN) who will be responsible for the day to day coordination and oversees all aspects of the Nursing Department as assigned by the Director of Nursing. Corry Memorial Hospital is in search of a per diem respiratory therapist to administer respiratory therapy care and support to patients with deficiencies and abnormalities of cardiopulmonary system and perform diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary system to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of heart and lung disorders.

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, patient/family education.

• Ensures all state and federal regulatory system updates are installed and tested prior to the regulatory effective date across all healthcare applications.
• Prepares and maintains documentation and procedures of systems to ensure intended use and continuity of program maintenance.
• Develops and performs training and continuing education programs for I.T. staff and systems users to support and utilize newly developed, modified, enhanced or converted systems.
• Develops test plans for all nursing and physician applications; assists users in executing test plan to ensure proper and error-free execution of application software.

• Participates in the department on-call rotation. Responsible for receiving, resolving or reporting issues to the parties responsible to resolve any issue during the rotation according to the I.T. on-call policy and procedure.
• Provides emergency or backup on-call assistance in the event of systems failure or scheduled maintenance.
