Erie, Pa. (April 29, 2025) — LECOM Health announces LECOM Medical Center’s Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) program has been granted accreditation by Corazon, a national leader in services for the cardiovascular specialty based in Pittsburgh, Pa. Through a rigorous process, the accreditation proves that the program at LECOM Medical Center has once again met or exceeded Corazon’s Accreditation Standards, national societal guidelines, and the requirements established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Formerly known as Millcreek Community Hospital, LECOM Medical Center has demonstrated through its accreditation survey that its staff is committed to providing the highest quality level of care to its patient community. Their dedication, hard work, and exceptional leadership have allowed this opportunity to engage their entire hospital team, enhancing their cardiac service line, and thus allowing them to excel through this accreditation.
As an accrediting agency on behalf of the PA DOH, Corazon helps to ensure life-saving services are provided in communities across the state.
“With a brand-new cath lab and advances in cardiovascular care under the direction of LECOM Health Interventional Cardiologist Matthew C. Becker, M.D., LECOM Medical Center continues to innovate and administer the highest level of care for our patients,” said Danielle Hansen, D.O., Regional President of LECOM Health. “I’m proud to have our best practices acknowledged through this accreditation.”
