Inpatient Rehab Unit LPN

LECOM Health Medical Center and Behavioral Health Pavilion, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is currently seeking a Part -Time IRU LPN (approximately 24 hours per week) to join our growing hospital.
Our Inpatient Rehab Unit LPNs provide professional nursing care under supervision for assigned patients according to established standards and practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, quality assessment program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
2. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations.
3. Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel.
4. Performs basic nursing procedures including application of simple dressings, administration of medications, and general rehabilitation nursing care.
5. Prepares, hangs, monitors and discontinues I.V. fluids.
6. Demonstrates sensitivity to patient’s comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress.
7. Monitors emotional stability of patients and reports changes to physician or charge nurse.
8. Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
9. Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards.
10. Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment.
11. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, inservice meetings, and workshops as required.
12. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training
Minimum Experience: Sufficient previous clinical experience in area of assignment
Req. Certification/Registration: Current PA LPN license and CPR certification
