Job description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities of the Wound Care Center. Activities include, but are not limited to, utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care as it relates to the specific needs of the patient. Nurses work within the framework of the State Nurse Practice Act and follows Wound Care Centers, INC, and affiliate hospital policies and procedures. The Nurse complies with hospital and nursing standards in the performance of job duties and responsibilities. The Nurse will support the goals and objectives of the center and of the hospital.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Patient Care (80%):

  • Providing case management for patients
  • Providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management.
  • Acting as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patient care.

Planning and Organizing (10%):

  • Providing efficient and effective care with the guidance of the physician during clinic sessions.
  • Attending the clinics at which you are scheduled and being dependable.
  • Managing multiple patients at the same time with high energy and organization.

Collaboration / Communication / Follow-up (10%):

  • Collaborating with other health care providers, wound care center physicians, Program Director and Medical Director, regarding clinic and patient needs.
  • Effectively communicating with others, both verbally and written.
  • Monitoring the Cases of patients for whom the Nurse is responsible.

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Nurse and State Licensure and Wound Care QUALIFICATIONS:

Certification preferred.

Minimum Experience: One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak the English Language in an understandable manner.

Physical Demands: The incumbent in this position typically has to stand approximately 40% of the time, walk 50% of the time, sit 10% of the time. In addition, the person is using touch or feel 80% of the time, and reaches with their arms or hands approximately 80% of the time. This person may have stoop, kneel, crouch 30% of the time, and talk or hear 100% of the time

Working Environment: The incumbent in this position is not required to work under any extreme conditions, but may be required to work around caustic chemicals approximately 5% of the time, and must be able to work around a moderate noise level, such as an office environment.

  1. Supervises staff and oversees the daily activities of each registration area to maintain department standards.

  15. Regularly hold department huddles and meetings. Maintains ongoing communication with staff to review programs, provide feedback, discuss new developments, and exchange information.
  16. Member of the Revenue Cycle Team.
  17. Excel in all functions performed by Registration Clerks in all Registration areas and performs these functions as necessary.
  18. Perform additional duties as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Experience: Minimum of one to three years prior supervisory experience in registration preferred.

Minimum Skills: Demonstrate reliability and a sense of urgency in completing tasks quickly and in a timely manner.  Excellent customer service skills.  Must show respect for patients, families, and fellow employees in all actions.  Competent use of computer systems and software (including Microsoft Office).

SUMMARY: Produces high quality mammograms using specialized imaging equipment to detect breast abnormalities.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The LECOM Medical Center and Behavioral Health Pavilion is accepting applications for a Registered Dietitian.

This position is located in Erie, PA.

Department: DIETARY

Reports To: Dietary Manager

SUMMARY: Ensures proper adherence to therapeutic diets as ordered by the physician through maintaining direct patient and resident nutritional care activities in accordance with the approved diet manual and with ADA standards, State and Federal laws, AOA requirements as well as hospital policy.  Is responsible for Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews medical orders for modified diets.
  • Interviews patients and residents to obtain information regarding food habits and preference which will influence the acceptability of the prescribed diet. 
  • Instructs patients and residents, relatives and/or caretakers regarding diet therapy to be applied during and subsequent to hospitalization.  May recommend to the physician diet adjustments regarding consistency, nutritive content and frequency of feeding.
  • Evaluates patient and resident consumption and progress; reports accordingly in their chart. Participates in care planning.  
  • Prior to discharge, offers recipes, suggests methods of preparation and current sources of gathering further information regarding their diet.  May consult with community agencies responsible for home or institutional care.
  • Develops patient and resident menus considering variety, season of the year, availability of foods, food preferences, appearance, taste texture, nutritional and caloric content, food costs and production; makes necessary revisions on a timely basis. 
  • Establishes and maintains a regular and modified diet recipe file to reflect the approved menus.  Inspects food produced and meal assembly to assure that quality, quantity, taste, temperature and appearance standards and directions are met.
  • Plans, organizes and conducts educational programs for Dietary employees, nursing staff, medical interns, residents, students, physicians, other personnel and members of the community. 
  • Is responsible for individual education and direction of new employees in regard to the therapeutic diet restrictions during their job orientation and training into new positions.
  • Is responsible for records and reports concerning number of patients and resident meals served, menus, supplies issued, diet instructions/consultations and others as requested by the Director of Food Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Masters or B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics degree, 1-2 years healthcare experience preferred.

  • Skills: Analytical skills to accurately assess, plan, and evaluate outcomes. Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse population and collaborate in a team environment. Strong nutrition education/counseling and mentoring skills. Critical thinking skills for sound decision making.
  • Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: Registered Dietitian with Commission on Dietetic Registration or registration exam eligible with employment contingent upon passing the RD examination within 3 months of date of hire. Maintenance of registration as demonstrated by 75 CEU credits every 5 years. Licensed Dietitian? Nutritionist (LDN) with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania within 6 months of hire and maintenance of PA-LDN as demonstrated by 30 CEU credits every 2 years.

  • Work is of medium demand; at times a high pace level is required.

LECOM Medical Center and Behavioral Health Pavilion, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is currently searching for a FT 1st/2nd shift split Behavioral Health Group Tech.

Provides assistance in meeting the daily living needs of patients within the therapeutic setting. Facilitates group therapies and activities as outlined by unit schedule. Directs patient activities designed to improve biopsychosocial functioning.

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team attending to the individualized needs of each patient thought therapeutic support and programming.

2. Understanding and ability to demonstrate competence with basic psychiatric diagnosis and appropriate therapeutic interventions.

3. Creates, organizes, and facilitates group activities and group therapies as outlined by unit schedules.

4. Participants in monitoring a safe and therapeutic environment.

5. Provides daily living skills training to identified patients within the therapeutic setting.

6. Documents patient behaviors, deviations, and therapeutic programming participation in medical record.

7. Participates as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team, assists with the development of treatment plans and updates.

8. Demonstrates professional behavior and interactions at all times with patients, family members, other professionals and staff.

9. Maintains professional boundaries at all times with patients, their loved ones and staff members.

10. Participates in staff training programs designed to improve professional knowledge and skills that will enhance clinical expertise and patient care.

11. Executes other duties as assigned by authorized personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Requirements: Masters Degree Preferred.

Bachelor’s degree required in Recreational Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Music Therapy or other related field

*Documented employment working within the field of psychology in a similar capacity for 4 or more years may be considered if educational requirement is not met.

Minimum Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in behavioral healthcare setting.

English Language Skills: Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.

Additional Information: This position is full time at 40 hours a week. Group Technicians work 4 days a week at 10 hours a day. Most group techs work one weekend day. Holiday coverage is shared among all group techs.

SUMMARY: PERFORMS DUTIES UNDER SUPERVISION OF THE Medical Director, Program Director, and/or Clinical Coordinator as appropriate for the program. Is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. Is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance on the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems. Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the hyperbaric physician.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or Certificate equivalent. Be certified and/or licensed in one of the following vocations:

Minimum Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
