Parkside at Glenwood, a part of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living is accepting resume submissions for a Full Time Maintenance Manager position.

Previous healthcare maintenance experience a plus but not necessary.

Parkside at Glenwood is located a 41 W Gore Rd, Erie PA 16509.

The Maintenance Manager performs a variety of semi-skilled maintenance work while supervising housekeeping staff. Will be responsible for knowledge of and adherence to healthcare regulations, while maintaining safe and operating condition through preventive maintenance programs and providing guidance to approved maintenance vendors.

*This position may require travel between multiple buildings/locations within Erie County while working - and will share on call responsibilities with multiple facilities. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required. A driver record check will be conducted for the chosen candidate as part of the onboarding process.*

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma and/or equivalent required.
  • Experience with Skilled Nursing and/or Long Term Care Facilities, as well as Dept of Health requirements within those facilities is strongly recommended.
  • Job related experience within specialized field with two to five (2-5) years’ of experience required.
  • Two years of verifiable paid experience in the skilled trades and/or construction or maintenance field or, electrical, plumbing, locksmith or HVAC trade; or in leading other maintenance workers, with concentration in a skilled craft.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Collaborates with site personnel, other trades, subcontractors (e.g., scheduling work orders and work activities, identifying project specifications, estimating costs, establishing required delivery dates of equipment and supplies) for the purpose of providing written support, conveying information, and coordinating work assignment activities;
  • Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently;
  • Guides other maintenance workers in performing skilled crafts for the purpose of providing support to workers developing their knowledge of specific skills with trade; Inspects facilities, systems and their components for the purpose of ensuring safety (e.g. OSHA) and cleanliness, and identifying necessary repairs;
  • Installs a variety of items and/or system components frequently of a complex nature (e.g., cabinetry, doors and hardware, windows, playground equipment, classroom and office equipment and facility components, TV cables, audiovisual equipment, intercommunicating telephones) for the purpose of maintaining the Institution in a safe, comfortable and operating condition;
  • Maintains tools and/or equipment for the purpose of ensuring the availability of equipment in safe operating condition;
  • Performs a variety of facility and equipment repair and maintenance activities at multiple sites within areas of trade expertise (e.g., electrical, heating/air conditioning, carpentry, plumbing, heating, locksmithing, roof and rain gutters, concrete, drywall, stucco, painting) for the purpose of ensuring that Institutional facilities and equipment are maintained in a safe and effective working order;
  • Prepares and maintains a variety of documentation (e.g., work orders, repair records, purchase orders, requisitions) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information;
  • Procures equipment and supplies in collaboration with onsite and outside vendors for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items;
  • Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving safety concerns and taking appropriate actions to maintain the overall educational environment;
  • Tests and/or troubleshoots a variety of items dependent on specific trade expertise (e.g., thermocouples, motors, boiler controls, motor valves, fire alarms, plumbing valves, fixtures, water lines, alarms, locks, new and renovated construction) for the purpose of assessing item functioning and recommending repair or replacement;
  • Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness;
  • Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action;
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments;
  • Coordinates work activities among departments;
  • Conducts orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment;
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies;
  • Evaluates records to forecast department personnel requirements;
  • Makes recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation;
  • Prepares reports concerning room occupancy, payroll (Kronos), and department expenses;
  • Selects and purchases new furnishings;
  • Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage;
  • Examines building to determine need for repairs or replacement of furniture or equipment, and makes recommendations to management;
  • Attends staff meetings to discuss Institutional policies and patrons' complaints;
  • Issues supplies and equipment to workers;
  • Establishes standards and procedures for work of housekeeping staff;
  • Advises manager, desk clerk, or admitting personnel of rooms ready for occupancy;
  • Records data regarding work assignments, personnel actions, and time cards, and prepares periodic reports;
  • Screens job applicants, hires new employees, and recommends promotions, transfers, and dismissals; and
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

The LECOM Institute for Successful Living is currently accepting resumes for a Full Time Ward Clerk / Medical Records Specialist.

Duties may include:

  • Enter physician orders: to include new admission orders, daily new orders from physician, and daily new orders from Therapy
  • Schedule all incoming appointments as ordered by the physician, to include the scheduling of transportation.
  • To include all follow up: Dialysis, family requests (i.e. funerals), wound clinics and any other appointment as ordered by a physician.
  • To ensure the medical summary and any other related paperwork (i.e. scans, x-rays, test results, labs) is prepared in advance appointments.
  • Communicate with front desk and family any appointments - scheduled, changed, or cancelled.
  • Provide instruction to all who will be attending the appointment - proper infection control and social distancing guidelines.
  • Notify staff of patient appointments, destinations, and times to ensure patient is prepared and ready prior to the appointment.
  • Keep track of all inventory sheets from all new admits, and upload into doc library,
  • Keep track of Disposition of medications returned to pharmacy and upload into medical records. Prepare disposition of medications and provide to nursing staff for review and signature’s for accuracy
  • Notify pharmacy, dietary, Laboratory of all resident that are no longer residing at the facility and also room changes.
  • Prepare and print out or down load onto a disk any request for medical records that are ordered or requested by outside entities
  • Psyche Visits, Podiatry, Dental: follow up with Psyche, Podiatry, Dental visits, upload doc in doc library and maintain and accurate visit record of the Psyche records will become the responsibility of the Ward Clerk
  • Prepare for labs that need drawn the day before they are due and have the information and labs slips ready for the third shift to prepare for the lab draws, including tubes and paperwork. Follow up and track lab results to ensure that the physician is aware of the new lab work results every morning before rounds.
  • Physician visits: accountable for maintaining the schedule for physician rounds, providing the Physician with an accurate list of people that need seen, calling the physician 2 weeks before they need seen to inform them that their visit is due.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Experience in Healthcare or Medical Records, strongly preferred
  • CNA license is a plus, but not required
  • Experience with scheduling, answering phones, computer use is required

Position Overview:

As a Registered Nurse with the LECOM Institute for Successful Living, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional nursing care to our patients. The schedule will be from 7:00 am-7:30 pm, 3 days/week, with an every other weekend rotation.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Erie County, a part of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living, is accepting applications/resumes for an Intake Specialist. Intake Specialists assist in the coordination of patient care under the direction of the Executive Director.

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives all intake information for paraprofessional cases and enters the appropriate information in the computer.
  • Completes intake forms and routes them appropriately for admission approval.
  • Receives referral information from Liaison team and passes the referral information to the appropriate staff as soon as possible.
  • Enter referrals the day they are received into Referral Manager.
  • Updates referral board prior to am and pm meetings.
  • Places calls to physicians to confirm who will sign orders (document in chart) and to patients to discuss admission and be alerted if patient has an appointment or refuses services.
  • Enter all information relevant for the team to complete admission.
  • Update referral with any changes prior to admission
  • Confirm F2F date for physician referrals and enter into case communication note.
  • Enter ROC orders, scheduling note, and ROC case communication note and send to appropriate team members.
  • Email intake team census numbers and referral log in the am and pm.
  • Check insurance for authorization at time of referral. Enter a case communication note into McKesson.
  • Obtain authorization according to insurance requirements within time constraints. Enter insurance communication notes with visit authorizations obtained and send to team members.
  • Monitor authorizations for completion and need for continued authorization requests.
  • Follow up authorization process within 24 hours of receiving notification that forms are complete.
  • Maintain an accurate, timely and daily authorization process and corresponding log to track progress.
  • Must be flexible to accept other duties needed or assigned by the resident or institution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

  • Performs dispensing functions in the intravenous admixture program. Technicians aseptically prepare IV compounded sterile products such as antibiotics, total parenteral nutrition, and other IV admixtures as needed. All solutions are aseptically prepared, verified by a pharmacist, labeled and delivered in a prompt manner.
  • Accurately and efficiently performs prescriptions order entry. Appropriate records of charges are accurately maintained and filed.
  • Ability to keep an up to date inventory and place orders when appropriate.
  • Perform billing and claims adjudication in a timely manner and to the best knowledge of the patients coverage.
  • Effectively communicates with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, other technicians, facility personnel, and patients.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, orderly, and well-stocked work area in the packaging, intravenous admixture, and nursing office areas.
  • Performs all other job duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager/Staff Pharmacist.
  • Must perform as a Universal Worker being cross-trained in housekeeping, dietary and personal care functions.
  • Must be flexible to accept other duties needed or assigned by the resident or institution.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*:

The LECOM Institute for Successful Living is now accepting applicants for its Certified Nurse Aide Training program.

Applicants selected for the LECOM CNA Training program will receive their training at no cost. LECOM will also cover the cost for the licensing exam (terms apply).

Trainees are offered a Full Time CNA position within one or more of our skilled nursing facilities, contingent upon successful completion of the training program and the final exam, with a starting pay rate of $17.50/hr, plus any applicable shift differential.

About the Class
The LECOM CNA Training program is 4 weeks in duration, with a total of 120 hours of classroom and clinical training. The first two weeks of training will be classroom hours from 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM. While the next 2 weeks consist of clinical hours from 7:00 AM- 1:30 PM. The classes are held at LECOM at Village Square, located at 149 W 22nd St, Erie PA.

*Candidates who can work Full Time 2nd shift, 3rd shift, or 12 hour overnight shift upon graduation of the program will be given preference for admittance. Attendance during the training program is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, strongly preferred
  • Applicants must complete a pre-employment physical and criminal background check prior to beginning their training
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the various training locations
