Corry Memorial Hospital is currently in search of a full-time purchasing specialist.  

Position Summary
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for procuring medical, clinical, and non-clinical supplies, equipment, and
services necessary to support hospital operations. This role ensures timely, cost-effective purchasing while
maintaining compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and vendor agreements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders for medical supplies, equipment, and general
supplies.
 Maintain appropriate inventory levels in collaboration with clinical departments to prevent shortages or
overstocking.
 Work with vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing within established contracts, and resolve delivery or
quality issues.
 Ensure purchases comply with hospital policies, agreements, and regulatory standards.
 Monitor order status, track shipments, and follow up on backorders or delayed deliveries.
 Reconcile purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices; resolve discrepancies with vendors and Accounts
Payable.
 Maintain accurate purchasing records in the hospital’s materials management system.
 Assist with vendor credentialing, product evaluations, and contract renewals.
 Collaborate with leadership and department managers to meet operational needs.
 Support cost-containment initiatives and identify opportunities for standardization and savings.
 Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and hospital compliance requirements.
 Receive deliveries and unload supply trucks in accordance with hospital safety and handling procedures.
 Stock and rotate medical and non-medical supplies in storerooms, supply rooms, and designated areas.
 Report damaged, expired or missing items promptly.
 Perform other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Wound Nurse is responsible for the coordination of wound care for the residents at the LECOM Institute for Successful Living. These include, but are not limited to, utilization of skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing care through standard operating procedures of all wounds.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be Licensed as a Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • Wound Care Certification or Ostomy Certification is preferred but not necessary.
  • 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must maintain current certifications in CPR and First Aid.

TYPICAL JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide case management for consulting patients providing specific assessment according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management, and acts as patient advocate in delivery and coordination of patients’ wound care;
  • Provides efficient and effective care with the guidance of the Physician during the wound clinic sessions, attends or follows up on all wound clinic appointments where scheduled. Able to manage a high number of patients at the same time with high energy level and organization;
  • Collaborates with other health care providers, wound care Physicians, Nursing Leaders and floor staff, Home Health Agencies, Extended Care Facilities, and Wound Clinic Program Director and Clinical Coordinator, regarding resident needs;
  • Will participate in the development and establishment of a goal oriented skin care protocol;
  • Implementation of the skin care protocol and orders within 24 hours or next business day after admission;
  • Order entry of initial LECOM Wound Clinic orders;
  • Order entry as needed upon changes in skin care;
  • Daily review of skin incidents and wound / ulcer report accuracy;
  • Liaison to LECOM Health Wound Clinic for transfer assistance;
  • Assist in resident / family / employee teaching and education as needed;
  • Review , document and report significant changes as well as quarterly and annual care plans;
  • If Patient has an active wound, will participate in multi-disciplinary team care plan meetings;
  • If Patient has no active wounds, a wound nurse business card will be provided during the care plan meeting;
  • Must provide daily skilled wound care on all patients, as applicable;
  • Nursing staff will perform head to toe skin assessments upon admission or next business day after admission and communicate results to wound nurse;
  • The wound nurse will assess either upon admission or on next business day after admission if there is any presence of a wound;
  • The wound nurse will assess within 5 days of an admission if no wound is identified by the nursing staff in their head to toe assessment;
  • and continue performing at least weekly skin assessments;
  • Weekly wound care rounds, follow up and documentation.

Corry Memorial Hospital is seeking a part-time housekeeper to work three evenings per week, about three hours per evening.  Hours are flexible after 5:00 pm.  Additional hours may be available at our Union City and Corry locations if desired.

Job Summary:

Cleans and services building areas according to established procedures.  Moves furniture, equipment and supplies throughout facility.  Performs a variety of environmental services duties to maintain the facility in a neat, orderly and sanitary condition.

Characteristic job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Selects cleaning materials and supplies and prepares solutions according to procedure. Loads service cart and transports to work area.
  • Cleans assigned areas by washing furniture, tile, fixtures and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutions.
  • Cleans assigned areas by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, vents, patient televisions and windows; strips and applies floor finish and polishes floors.
  • Mops and buffs floor areas, vacuums carpets, spot cleans floors and carpets, using appropriate solutions and arranges furniture and equipment back in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned area.
  • Requests cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Cleans equipment and notifies supervisor of equipment needing repair. Reports safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Follow instructions regarding the use of cleaning materials and supplies in accordance with OSHA and Institutional Safety Protocols
  • Returns unused supplies to proper place, cleans carts and equipment and ensures all items are replaced in an orderly manner.
  • Climbs ladder to reach high areas for cleaning purposes.
  • Collects waste from all areas of facility, sanitizes trash cans and keeps waste disposal area sanitized.
  • Assists in collecting and distributing soiled or clean linen.
  • Collects hazardous waste in manner established by the Infection Control Committee.
  • Cleans rooms after patients have been discharged or more frequently if needed.  
  • Arranges furniture for meetings, workshops and facility affairs, as requested.
  • Shovel/Salt sidewalks as needed if maintenance is unavailable.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by supervisor.

Job Summary

The LECOM Institute for Successful Living has an immediate opening for a full-time Staff Educator / Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor (NATCEP). Candidates must possess a valid PA nursing license (RN or LPN). The selected individual will primarily serve as a staff educator for all levels of employment within our organization.

As a secondary duty, this position will also serve as an instructor in a regular classroom and clinical setting, presenting instruction in a state approved Nurse Aide Training Program. The position follows the student from application, through the courses, and provides support through the state examination process.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) with at least one-year experience in long-term care facility.
  • Must have Teaching the Educator Certification or be eligible for the Teaching the Educator Certification.

Characteristic job tasks and responsibilities:
  • Receive daily assignments and instructions.
  • Short order cooking or running of the register in cafeteria.
  • Act in a courteous professional manner to all hospital personnel, patients, and visitors.
  • Assemble patient trays, prepare food carts and transport the carts to the appropriate floors.
  • Clear food carts and café trays, perform dish washing tasks.
  • Perform heavy cleaning, routine cleaning and non-routine cleaning duties as directed.
  • Assist in care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
  • Document required records and statistics.
  • Restock items in the kitchen. Gets and puts away new stock from delivery trucks.
  • Maintain snack levels in each of the floor kitchens.
  • Prepare luncheons and other special functions.
  • Attend department staff and educational meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the dietary department.

This job performs mammography procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s). Reviews patient images and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure.
  • Enters relevant patient and imaging data into EHR and related systems. 
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. 
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards, ensures regulatory compliance, including performing appropriate quality control procedures on equipment including accreditation documentation and preparation.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Participates in ensuring compliance with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) regulations. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by department manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
  • Radiography certification
  • Mammography certification

ATHLETIC TRAINER

Position Description — NON‑EXEMPT

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB

The Athletic Trainer assists in the oversight and delivery of comprehensive health care services for athletes within the guidelines established by LECOM Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. This hybrid role includes sports medicine game coverage, athletic training room availability, and orthopedic sports medicine clinic patient care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Distribute and collect required health documentation for athlete participation.
  • Monitor pre‑existing health conditions of involved athletes.
  • In the absence of a physician’s order, assist with decisions regarding athlete participation.
  • Assist sports medicine physicians with the care and evaluation of injuries for all sports sponsored by LECOM.
  • Provide game coverage for assigned sports.
  • Assist with recommendations regarding equipment and supplies.
  • Consult in the purchase and fitting of protective equipment and devices.
  • Support learning experiences for health professional trainees and, where appropriate, athletic training students.
  • Assist in formulating and monitoring treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Guide athletes regarding the need for physician referral.
  • Coordinate insurance information with the Business Office as related to injuries sustained during athletics.
  • Support the mission and vision of LECOM Health.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Dexterity required for coordination of hands, fingers, legs, and torso.
  • Must be able to lift/carry up to 10 pounds occasionally.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Training

  • Master’s Degree required.
  • Graduate of a CAATE‑approved program preferred.

Work Experience

  • Completion of a Master’s entry‑level CAATE‑approved training program preferred.

Certificates & Licenses

  • Certification in First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross required.
  • Minimum one year of BOC certification preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
