Job Summary: The Hospital Concierge is responsible for enhancing the overall patient experience by providing personalized services and support to patients, their families, and visitors. This role involves assisting with a variety of non-medical tasks to ensure comfort, convenience, and a positive experience during their stay at the hospital. The concierge will act as a liaison between patients and hospital staff, offering assistance with navigating hospital facilities, coordinating requests, and addressing any concerns in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest and Patient Support:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, family members, and visitors.
  • Assist patients with non-medical needs such as arranging transportation, making reservations for accommodations, or offering local information.
  • Respond to inquiries about hospital services, amenities, and facilities in a friendly, efficient, and empathetic manner.
  • Navigation Assistance:
  • Assist patients and visitors in navigating hospital departments, clinics, and services.
  • Provide directions and information about hospital layout, parking, and available services.
  • Coordination of Services:
  • Coordinate and fulfill patient and family requests for additional services such as food, flowers, gifts, and special accommodations.
  • Assist patient to access hospital’s patient portal system.
  • Assist patient for completion of hospital reviews.
  • Personalized Patient Care:
  • Offer recommendations and arrange services based on patient preferences (e.g., meal options, entertainment, accommodations).
  • Maintain a library of entertainment options for patients to include magazines, newspapers, and crossword puzzles.
  • Offer patient’s entertainment options from the library of options.
  • Help organize support services for patients, such as spiritual care, social services, or volunteer assistance.
  • Assemble welcome baskets and place in the patient rooms prior to a patient’s admission. Follow up with the patient after admission to ensure toiletry needs are met within the welcome basket
  • Send out follow up communication post discharge.
  • Problem Resolution:
  • Address patient and visitor concerns promptly and work with the relevant departments to resolve issues quickly and professionally.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction and follow up on any pending issues or requests to guarantee they are addressed.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain a log of patient requests and feedback for continuous improvement of services.
  • Assist in maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of hospital services, policies, and emergency procedures.
  • Assist with administrative tasks as assigned, including data entry, maintaining patient service records, and preparing reports.
  • Identify trends in customer issues and suggest improvements to enhance the customer experience and participate in meetings to address trends.
  • Conduct internal patient satisfaction surveys with patient and family and follow trends with areas of concern.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with other hospital departments, including nursing, social services, food services, and patient services, to ensure a smooth patient experience.
  • Provide clear communication to staff regarding patient needs and requests.
  • Cultural Sensitivity:
  • Ensure services are provided with respect to patients' cultural, religious, and personal preferences.
  • Maintain a compassionate and professional demeanor, especially in high-stress situations.

Customer Service:

  • Provide courteous, respectful, and empathetic assistance to patients and their families.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold the facility's policies regarding privacy and dignity.
  • Participate in hospital wide patient satisfaction training.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to all hospital safety protocols and infection control procedures during patient interactions.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, hazards, or patient incidents immediately.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required;
  • Experience: Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or healthcare settings preferred. Experience in a concierge or patient services role is an advantage.

Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (RNAC)

The LECOM Senior Living Center, a part of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living is looking for a caring and compassionate RNAC to join our growing team!

The primary purpose of the RNAC is to conduct and coordinate the development and completion of the resident assessment in accordance with the requirements of Pennsylvania and the policies and goals of our facility. We strive to provide the best clinical outcomes for our residents, and the RNAC is a valuable member of the residents' Care Plan Team. Time management and attention to detail are crucially important to this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct or coordinate the interviewing of each resident for the resident's assessment
  • Evaluate each resident's condition and pertinent medical data to determine the need for special assessment activities or need to amend the admission assessment
  • Develop preliminary and comprehensive assessment of the nursing needs of each resident, utilizing the forms required by current rules and regulations and facility policies
  • Ensure that all members of the assessment team are aware of the importance of completeness and accuracy in their assessment function and that they are aware of the penalties, including civil money penalties, for false certifications
  • Ensure that a complete resident assessment is conducted within fourteen days of a significant change in the resident's condition
  • Coordinate the review and revision to the resident's care plan by the interdisciplinary team after each quarterly review or other assessment, assuring that the care plan is evaluated and revised each time an assessment is done or when there is a change in the resident's status
  • Sign and date the assessment instrument to certify its completion
  • Responsible for transmission of resident information to the state per requirements

Education and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required
  • Licensure and registration by the PA Board of Nursing Examiners as a Registered Nurse
  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing care facility, acute care setting, or other related field preferred.
  • Previous RNAC experience highly preferred.

LECOM Institute for Successful Living is seeking to add a Nursing Scheduler to our growing team at LECOM Nursing and Rehabilitation. The Nursing Scheduler will actively schedule Nursing Staff of all positions to meet staffing levels while maintaining appropriate records and documentation. Medical Associates of Erie is currently seeking a full time Front Desk Receptionist for a busy Physician Practice. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Check voicemail line in the morning and retrieve messages
  2. Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors
  3. Answers phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
  4. Schedule patient appointments, make reminder calls, call patients who missed their appointments (no shows)
  5. Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized
  6. Facilitates patient flow by notifying physician of patients’ arrival and communicating with patients and clinical staff of unforeseen service delays
  7. ”Check in” patients as they arrive in a courteous manner. Responds to patient inquires in a professional and respectful manner.
  8. Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information
  9. Verifies patient’s address, phone, insurance and email address each visit
  10. Collection of patient balances for services provided (co-pay, prior balances etc)
  11. Copy insurance cards
  12. Verify patient insurance eligibility prior to patient appointments

Qualifications:

Medical Associates of Erie is seeking a reliable medical assistant to guarantee that each patient visit and the logistical arrangements surrounding the visit are carried out with courtesy, caring and consistency, while assisting the physician in patient care and education

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in patient care in the exam room as directed by physician
  2. Perform clinical procedures under supervision of physician
  3. Escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s electronic health record
  4. Interview patients to make sure all information in electronic medical record is complete and current, including obtaining all necessary signed authorizations
  5. Review medical record for progress notes, specialist templates and diagnostic records prior to patient visit. Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed, if available, in patient’s electronic health record.  (pre-visit planning/chart prep)

  13. Triage for urgency and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians
  14. Provide response to patient inquiry and concerns with attention to confidentiality
  15. Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
  16. Keep patients in waiting area informed of any unusual delays in physicians’ schedule
  17. All other duties as assigned

Other Duties:

  1. Assist in answering phone, scheduling appointments, making reminder calls as well as calling no shows
  2. Be familiar with and implement all office policies and procedures
  3. Attend all office meetings and training sessions
