Millcreek Community Hospital, an Equal Opportunity Employer is seeking a Full-time Imaging Technologist, XRAY/ CT. 

Schedule is Monday-Thursday 11:30am to 10pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  •  Produces diagnostic computerized tomography images of optimal quality and assists in interventional computed tomography examinations by using designated imaging systems.
  • Correlate patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for reference use.
  • Provide superior patient care through explanation of CT procedures and assist with any questions or needs
  • Selects appropriate CT protocols and follows ALARA standards for optimal image quality using minimal radiation exposure.
  • Prepares contrast agents which are utilized for the CT procedures according to procedural guidelines and protocols, including oral and intravenous routes.
  • Prepares sterile trays for specific interventional computed tomography examinations and maintains sterility during those procedures.
  • Maintains equipment in efficient and safe operating order through visual and performance checks of equipment, supplies, and accessories; problem solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative regarding equipment problems.
  • Completes all quality checks and ensures that equipment logs are maintained.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Transports patients to CT scan room; prepares and maintains room for daily activities.
  • Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep material on hand at all times.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educations programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • All 1st & 2nd Shift Splits O.R. On-Call between other staff
  • Attends meeting as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education:  Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology with Diploma or Associate Degree

Membership of the Stroke team includes mandatory hours of education annually specifically related to diagnosis/assessment and management of acute stroke/ cerebrovascular disease.

 

Required Course(s)/Training: Accredited program in Radiologic Technology and training in computerized assisted tomography

  • Req. Certification/Registration: ARRT (R) is required;

                                                                    CT registry is preferred, but not required

 

  • Physical Demands: Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients

                                              Lifts supplies/equipment

 

  • Working Conditions: Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards

  16. Attend required meetings, in-services, and educational programs.
  17. Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.
  18. Other duties as assigned by the Clinic Manager and/or Medical Director.

Medical Associates of Erie is seeking a full time Clinic Assistant for a busy Orthopedic Physicians Practice.

SUMMARY: To guarantee that each patient visit and the logistical arrangements surrounding the visit are carried out with courtesy, caring and consistency, while assisting the physician in patient care and education

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in patient care in the exam room as directed by physician

Perform clinical procedures under supervision of physician

Escort patients to exam rooms, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s electronic health record

Interview patients to make sure all information in electronic medical record is complete and current, including obtaining all necessary signed authorizations

Review medical record for progress notes, specialist templates and diagnostic records prior to patient visit. Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed, if available, in patient’s electronic health record. (pre-visit planning/chart prep)

Schedule tests, surgical procedures and coordinate referrals to provide continuous care for patients

Obtain all necessary authorizations as mandated by patient’s insurance

Track referrals for the practice to completion (report/result received and patient notified)

Perform lab draws, EKG’s and administer injections.

Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding medication and treatment protocol as instructed by physician

Keep exam rooms and medication storage room stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required

Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls

Triage for urgency and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians

Provide response to patient inquiry and concerns with attention to confidentiality

Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)

Keep patients in waiting area informed of any unusual delays in physicians’ schedule

Assessment Coordinator (RNAC or LNAC)

The LECOM Senior Living Center, a part of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living, is looking for a caring, compassionate, and detail oriented Full Time Assessment Coordinator to join our growing team!

The primary purpose of the Assessment Coordinator is to conduct and coordinate the development and completion of the resident assessment in accordance with the requirements of Pennsylvania and the policies and goals of our facility. We strive to provide the best clinical outcomes for our residents, and the Assessment Coordinator is a valuable member of the residents' Care Plan Team. Time management and attention to detail are crucially important to this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct or coordinate the interviewing of each resident for the resident's assessment
  • Evaluate each resident's condition and pertinent medical data to determine the need for special assessment activities or need to amend the admission assessment
  • Develop preliminary and comprehensive assessment of the nursing needs of each resident, utilizing the forms required by current rules and regulations and facility policies
  • Ensure that all members of the assessment team are aware of the importance of completeness and accuracy in their assessment function and that they are aware of the penalties, including civil money penalties, for false certifications
  • Ensure that a complete resident assessment is conducted within fourteen days of a significant change in the resident's condition
  • Coordinate the review and revision to the resident's care plan by the interdisciplinary team after each quarterly review or other assessment, assuring that the care plan is evaluated and revised each time an assessment is done or when there is a change in the resident's status
  • Sign and date the assessment instrument to certify its completion
  • Responsible for transmission of resident information to the state per requirements

Education and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required
  • Licensure and registration by the PA Board of Nursing Examiners as a Registered or Practical Nurse
  • Prior experience in a skilled nursing care facility, acute care setting, or other related field preferred.
  • Previous Assessment Coordinator experience highly preferred.

Occupational Therapists provide skilled occupational therapy services on an intermittent basis to patients in their homes in accordance with the physician’s orders

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists the physician in evaluating the patient’s level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic procedures
  • Conducts initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments of the patient’s needs, including Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) assessments.
  • Evaluates the patient’s significant other(s), and the home situation to determine what instruction will be required and what family assistance will be available in caring for the patient, as well as what other Agency and community services will be required.
  • Assures that the physician’s orders are appropriate and discusses necessary changes.
  • Assists in development and implementation of the interdisciplinary patient care plan to include Occupational Therapy in consultation with the physician
  • Guides and instructs the patient in prescribed therapeutic self-care and creative activities that are directed toward improving independence and physical and mental functioning.
  • Instructs patient in care and use of wheelchairs, braces, splints, and prosthetic and orthotic devices
  • Teaches, supervises, and counsels the family and patient in the total occupational therapy program and other related problems of the patient at home
  • Establishes goals based on the patient’s current level of functioning and potential for improvement and performs re-evaluations as indicated.
  • Makes arrangement for outpatient services when procedures are required that cannot be given in the home
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of occupational therapy intervention and updates the patient care plan as needed.
  • Prepare clinical/progress notes on the day of the visit
  • Communicates with the physician on a regular basis regarding patient’s status obtaining additional orders, if necessary.
  • Communicates with the other team members and, when appropriate, instructs them in Occupational Therapy techniques that they may use while working with the patient.
  • Supervises the Home Health Aide every 2 weeks when Occupational Therapy is the only professional discipline involved in the patient’s care.
  • Participates with the staff, the patient, and the physician in discharge activities and completes an Occupational Therapy Discharge Summary.
  • Assumes responsibility for self-development by continually striving to improve his/her health care knowledge through educational programs, attendance at workshops and conferences, active participation in professional and related organizations and individual research and reading.
  • Obtains a medical history, particularly as it related to the present condition.
  • Evaluates the patient, the patient’s significant other(s) and the home situation to determine what instruction will be required, what assistance will be available from the family in caring for the patient, and what other Agency and community services will be required.
  • Assures that the physician’s orders are appropriate and discusses necessary changes
  • Must perform as a Universal Worker being cross-trained in other areas including Home Health Aide.
  • Must be flexible to accept other duties needed or assigned by the resident or institution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
