The LECOM Institute for Successful Living is currently accepting applications and resume submissions for a PRN Physical Therapist Assistant. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries and muscle, nerve, joint and bone disease, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability by performing a numbered of required duties for the LECOM Institute for Successful Living.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review physician orders, patient‘s condition, and medical records;
- Review data from the Physical Therapy evaluation and plan of care including short and long term goals prior to administering treatment;
- Review effective treatment strategies for areas of strength, endurance, and functional mobility with the Physical Therapist;
- Monitor and communicate patient response to physical therapy treatment;
- Assist the Physical Therapist with patient at discharge including patient and family instruction in safety, mobility and function;
- Attend meetings in regards to patient care such as care plan meetings , welcome meetings and daily huddles on an as needed basis;
- Modify physical therapy treatment and plan of care according to patient’s ability and response as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist;
- Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home;
- Record treatment, response, and progress in the electronic medical record. Documentation of patients care and services will adhere to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional guidelines;
- Record daily treatment charges per corporate procedures’
- Adhere to all HIPPA procedures and guidelines in accordance with LECOM Health’s standard of excellence;
- Educate the patient and/or caregivers to enhance functional independence;
- Comply with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements;
- Maintain compliance with appropriate therapy minutes, therapy intensity, and productivity standards on daily basis;
- Work as scheduled, ready to devote full attention and energy to the important work of LECOM Health; and
- Accept other duties as needed/assigned for the Institution’s needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience equivalent to:
Required: Physical Therapy Assistant degree from an accredited institution required. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, CDC guidelines, hazardous waste management and disposal and radiation safety. CPR and Pennsylvania license as a Physical Therapy Assistant required. Must also possess and independent supervision license.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience equivalent to:
- Must be licensed SLP in Pennsylvania
- Must have at least one year of institutional experience
- The education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in the appropriate area granted by the American Speech and Hearing Association or
- The educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification.
- A Master’s degree in speech-language pathology preferred.

- Contact on call administrative personnel as needed.
- Assist in finding nursing staff coverage when needed.
- Complete transfer sheets and daily counts for Administration office.
- Assist Acute Care Unit with scanning living wills and POA’s.
- Verify room and bed census with nursing floors nightly.
- Call outside services such as Poison Control and Chaplain as needed.
- Snow removal and/or salting when needed.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Kitchen Supervisor will assist the Culinary Director in all operations within the Dietary department including, but not limited to; staff scheduling, disciplinary actions, scheduling, cost controls, sanitation standards, and record keeping.

LECOM Institute of Behavioral Health Outpatient is seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our growing outpatient clinic. Full-time 1st shift. SUMMARY: The BH Clinic Scheduler has an overall responsibility of maximizing accessibility to the clinic by managing the schedules of providers and ensuring patients are seen within recommended clinical timeframes designated by prescribing physicians and CRNPs. The position facilitates timely checkout from the practice and providers superb customer service with patients, caregivers, and collaborating professionals.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Customer Service
- Respond to incoming clinic calls and messages about scheduling in a professional and courteous manner.
- Clear voicemails at least three times per day and maintain log of time to resolve all scheduling-related messages.
- Assist callers of the clinic with general information about the LIBH practice.
- Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
- Facilitate efficient and attentive check-out process.
- Notify Clinic Director of urgent patient needs, complaints, and/or safety issues.
- Fulfill receptionist duties during breaks and/or reception staff time off. Scheduling
- Oversight and ownership of medication management and Resident therapy schedule to assure all scheduling parameters are being monitored, schedules are correct, and patients are scheduled in accordance with time frames outlined by providers.
- Maintain updated information on provider schedules ensuring patients are scheduled properly (by age, insurance, capacity, etc.).
- Distinguish the priority of patients’ needs to determine when an immediate slot should be found and offered.
- Assist providers and patient callers with scheduling and rescheduling appointments.
- Proactively coordinate with Clinic Director and team to ensure psychiatric time is fully utilized.
- Maintain a backfill strategy/list for each provider.
- Monitor and document all missed appointments.
- Contact all patients that cancelled or did not show to their appointment to reschedule and document attempts in patient chart.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts as they occur.
- Process and monitor provider PTO and CME requests, as well as the Resident post call calendar, and schedule blocks needed for meetings.
- Liaise and coordinate with Clinic Director, Medical Director, and/or Clinic Operations team about provider schedules, change requests, schedule strategy.
- Electronic Health Record Documentation
- Utilize electronic health record to message staff regarding patient scheduling needs/requests.
- Document in patient chart about specific patient needs, pertinent updates, etc. at the time of scheduling/rescheduling.
- Coordinate with receptionists to reconcile daily encounters when conducting day end review. Clerical · Maintain logs of required data as needed.
- Submit routine reports as requested by Clinic Director, Medical Associates of Erie (MAE) and/or MCH.
OTHER DUTIES

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Required o High school diploma or equivalent o Front desk and/or customer service experience.
- Preferred o Scheduling experience. o Formal clerical or secretarial skills training program outside of high school.
- Behavioral health experience helpful, but not required.
- Demonstrates sensitivity in relating to and working with persons of varying backgrounds, strengths, aptitudes, and abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to organize his or her time to ensure maximum efficiency in clinic operations in the allotted working day.

- Provide current Act 33/34 and FBI clearances upon hire.

- Must have valid current insurance coverage and reliable transportation.
- Remains in compliance with annual training plan requirements.

LECOM Medical Center and Behavioral Health Pavilion, an Equal Opportunity Employer is seeking 1 FT NIGHT RN, (SHIFTS MAY VARY) for our Detox Department. $7,800 Sign on Bonus with 2 years or more experience $6,500 Sign on Bonus with less than 2 years of experience REQUIRED: The Detox staff nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides a high standard of care through thorough assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluation of all patients under their care. Provide patient care and medication administration utilizing nursing principles while attending to the responsibilities and needs of assigned patients. Utilize established standards of care and unit policies and procedures when making clinically appropriate decisions. Participate in patient care planning by communicating patient information to members of the treatment team. Provide patient education and guidance to address patient problems through admission to discharge. Demonstrate professional behavior and interactions at all times with patients, family members, other professionals and staff.

LECOM Medical Center and Behavioral Health Pavilion, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is currently hiring an Emergency Room Technician, PRN and FT36 NIGHTS, 7p-0730a.
Required:
- Primary responsibility will be to triage patients as they present to the ER and report of such patients to RN and/or ER physician.
- Assists the nurse in tasks requiring less technical skills.
- Adhere to Hospital and Emergency Room policies.
- Will restock, reorder supplies.
- Assure a clean, safe work environment.
- Offer support to patients and families.
- Functions as a Unit Clerk and is able to meet emergency situations with composure within scope of procedure.
Education Requirements:
- Post high school vocational/specialized training
- Current Emergency Medical Technician certificate or EMT required.
- CPR
- Basic Telemetry Course credentialing within 1 year of hire
- Membership of the Stroke team includes mandatory hours of education annually specifically related to diagnosis/assessment and management of acute stroke/cerebrovascular disease.
