Qualifications
This is an entry level Plant Operations Specialist position. Employees at this level are expected to perform repairs and improvements and preventative maintenance processes initially under the guidance of experienced staff with the expectation that they will be able to perform these duties with minimal supervision going forward.

Duties and Responsibilities

  6. Repair, spackle, replace and finish drywall to a smooth surface.

  8. Lift and convey materials that needed moved in the hospital and outside.
  9. Gathering and disposing of waste materials.
  10. Erect ladders and scaffold and perform work at an elevated level.
  11. Inspect work areas for quality and maintain cleanliness.
  12. Operate tools and equipment in a safe manner according to training, policy, and manufacturer’s instructions.
  13. Receive and complete work orders while maintaining proper records.
  14. Maintain an inventory of tools and supplies related to work being conducted.
  15. Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  16. DON and DOFF appropriate PPE as advised to protect the employee from potentially harmful conditions.

Other Duties as Assigned Other duties can include:

  1. Working at other LECOM facilities, including residential properties.
  2. Filling in other roles when the hospital has urgent needs due to absences, disaster response, or safety issues that might arise.
  3. Working other shifts temporarily to complete tasks that cannot be done during typical work hours.
  4. Any other duties related to meeting the mission and goals of the hospital or Plant Operations.

As a registered nurse (RN) in our operating room, you will provide a high standard of care through assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluation of all patients under their care. Next, you will be responsible for all day to day nursing care and will follow all nursing guidelines and care plans for the appropriate patient. Finally, you may also fill in as charge nurse on the unit as assigned.

SUMMARY: Provides prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals as needed for adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

2. Participate in accurate and efficient medication order review and order processing within the MEDITECH Health Information System. Review patient profiles and new orders to prevent drug interactions and contraindications. Ensure the accurate and prompt delivery of unit-dose medications and controlled substances to Pyxis machines and hospital inpatients. Emergency drug stocks in patient care areas are accurately filled in a timely manner. Accurately compound and dispense medicinals of a special nature that are not readily available from manufacturers. Appropriate records and inventory on all drugs are maintained as required.

3. Participate in and supervise technical staff in the operation of the centralized intravenous admixture program. Ensure the accurate and efficient preparation and delivery of total parenteral nutrition solutions, antibiotics, and other medications for intravenous therapy. Ensure dosage amounts and intravenous compatibilities are accurately determined. Patient profiles and new orders are reviewed to prevent drug interactions and contraindications.

4. Supervise the accurate dispensing for all controlled medications and maintain an accurate log. Ensure all controlled medications are accounted for within the Pyxis machines. Research and review all controlled medication discrepancies in Pyxis and log findings.

5. Provide current and accurate drug information to health care professionals and patients. Drug information provided includes a thorough understanding of new medications, dosage requirements, indications, contraindications, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, side effects, adverse reactions, precautions, and suitable formulary agents for use in specific therapies.

6. Supervise the accurate and efficient dispensing of outpatient prescriptions for dismissal, emergency room, day surgery, outpatient clinic, and employees.

7. Effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, purchasing technicians, pharmacy technicians, other hospital personnel, and hospital patients; thereby, promoting and ensuring rational drug therapy. Train and supervise technical staff members in established policies and procedures for our hospital and department.

  • Inspect nursing units and hospital departments to monitor the proper storage and distribution of patient floor stock, controlled drugs, and emergency medications.

9. Respond and provide pharmaceutical services and expertise to all code blue and stroke alert situations.

10. Perform all other job related duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree following completion of a 5 or 6 year program from an ACDE accredited school of Pharmacy

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Dietary Manager, prepares,

seasons and cooks food for hospital patients, employees, staff and

visitors. Supervises and coordinates activities of Dietary and

Snack Bar/Gift Shop Departments during the manager’s absence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Reviews menu summaries to determine type and quantities of

meats, vegetables and soups to be prepared.

2. Plans cooking schedule to ensure that food will be ready at

specified times. Confers with the dietitian regarding modified

diet preparation.

3. Prepares or supervises washing, trimming, cooking and seasoning

of food items for each meal.

4. Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipes using a variety

of kitchen utensils and equipment such as blenders, mixers, grinders,

slicers and tenderizers to make sauces, soups, stews, casseroles and

desserts.

5. Bakes, roasts, broils and steams meats, fish and other foods.

6. Observes and tastes food being cooked and adds ingredients or

seasonings to improve flavor or texture as needed.

7. Tests food being cooked by tasting, smelling and/or piercing, taking

temperatures to determine that it is cooked to proper doneness. Adjusts

heat controls and timers on ovens, grills, fryers, etc., as required.

LECOM Health offers a full continuum of care from Independent Living and Personal Care apartments to Skilled Nursing Care and Outpatient services including In-Home Care, Home Health, and Hospice under the direction of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living.

SUMMARY:

The LECOM Institute for Successful Living is accepting applications and resume submissions for Full Time - Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) positions within our Skilled Nursing Facilities. CNAs work directly with residents to ensure personal, nutritional, and medical needs are met, but also to create an environment which supports healing.

These positions are located in Erie, PA and interested candidates must be able to work on location in Erie, if hired.

Full Time Openings currently on the following shifts :

  • 1st Shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • 12 Hour Day Shift 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • 12 Hour Night Shift 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

**Also accepting submissions for PRN (Per Diem) schedules.**

We've just increased our starting pay rates...again! But now, we've also added a bonus program for all Full Time CNAs that allows for an opportunity to earn up to an additional $1.50/hr!

SUMMARY:

Provides resident centered care in accordance with policies and procedures while consistently addressing and communicating resident needs and concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or a GED.
  • Must possess and maintain certification as a Certified Nurse Aide / CNA in Pennsylvania.
