Licensed Practical Nurse

SUMMARY:

The LECOM Institute for Successful Living is accepting applications and resume submissions for Full Time - Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) positions within our Skilled Nursing Facilities. CNAs work directly with residents to ensure personal, nutritional, and medical needs are met, but also to create an environment which supports healing.

These positions are located in Erie, PA and interested candidates must be able to work on location in Erie, if hired.

Full Time Openings currently on the following shifts :

  • 1st Shift 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • 2nd Shift 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
  • 3rd Shift 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • 12 Hour Day Shift 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • 12 Hour Night Shift 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

**Also accepting submissions for PRN (Per Diem) schedules.**

We've just increased our starting pay rates...again! But now, we've also added a bonus program for all Full Time CNAs that allows for an opportunity to earn up to an additional $1.50/hr!

SUMMARY:

Provides resident centered care in accordance with policies and procedures while consistently addressing and communicating resident needs and concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must possess a High School Diploma or a GED.
  • Must possess and maintain certification as a Certified Nurse Aide / CNA in Pennsylvania.

Job Summary:

To perform services necessary to complete efficient and accurate insurance processing for all patients in compliance with LECOM Health Corry Memorial Hospital policies and procedures.

Characteristic job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Answer telephones and provide patient support regarding questions about patient balances.
  • Understand and complete the step by step transaction processes in the billing system.
  • Responsible for processing and following up on unpaid/denied claims until paid or written off appropriately.
  • Responsible for a portion of the A/R which requires phone contact with insurance companies and investigation of review letters.
  • Responsible for maintaining a follow up file on unpaid claims and following through until the accounts reach zero. Review files consistently for payment or non-payment.

  • Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
  • Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, patient/family education.
  • Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
  • Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed.
  • Schedules cardiopulmonary procedures for internal/external sources.

  • Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information. *Orders repairs when needed. * Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel. * Supervises students during training.
  • Reads prescription, measures arterial blood gases, and reviews patient information to assess patient condition and determine requirements for treatment, such as type and duration of therapy, and medication dosages. Determines most suitable method of administering inhalants, precautions to be observed, and modifications which may be needed that will be compatible with physician's orders.
  • Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes. Performs bronchopulmonary drainage and assists patient in performing breathing exercises. Performs pulmonary function tests to be used by physician in diagnosis of case. Consults with physician in the event of adverse reactions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

LECOM Institute for Successful Living is seeking to add a Nursing Scheduler to our growing team at LECOM Nursing and Rehabilitation. The Nursing Scheduler will actively schedule Nursing Staff of all positions to meet staffing levels while maintaining appropriate records and documentation. Will also perform duties to provide resident centered care to patients of the LECOM Institute for Successful Living, and to consistently address and communicate resident needs and concerns.

The ideal candidate would also possess a current C.N.A. certificate in Pennsylvania.

CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Knowledge, skills, attitude, and energy to consistently provide resident centered care;
  • Will be responsible to schedule nursing staff including full time, part time, and PRN staff;
  • Responsible to understand ideal and minimum staffing levels for all positions for all shifts and days, and potential changes in those staffing levels;
  • Will utilize PRN staff availability to fill available shifts on the master schedule;
  • Will contact staff in person, via phone, text and email to schedule fill-ins, pick-ups and adjust scheduling needs;
