The LECOM Institute for Successful Living is now accepting applicants for its Certified Nurse Aide Training program.

Applicants selected for the LECOM CNA Training program will receive their training at no cost. LECOM will also cover the cost for the licensing exam (terms apply).

Trainees are offered a Full Time CNA position within one or more of our skilled nursing facilities, contingent upon successful completion of the training program and the final exam, with a starting pay rate of $17.50/hr, plus any applicable shift differential.

About the Class
The LECOM CNA Training program is 4 weeks in duration, with a total of 120 hours of classroom and clinical training. The first two weeks of training will be classroom hours from 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM. While the next 2 weeks consist of clinical hours from 7:00 AM- 1:30 PM. The classes are held at LECOM at Village Square, located at 149 W 22nd St, Erie PA.

*Candidates who can work Full Time 2nd shift, 3rd shift, or 12 hour overnight shift upon graduation of the program will be given preference for admittance. Attendance during the training program is mandatory.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent, strongly preferred
  • Applicants must complete a pre-employment physical and criminal background check prior to beginning their training
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the various training locations

ATHLETIC TRAINER

Position Description — NON‑EXEMPT

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB

The Athletic Trainer assists in the oversight and delivery of comprehensive health care services for athletes within the guidelines established by LECOM Health Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. This hybrid role includes sports medicine game coverage, athletic training room availability, and orthopedic sports medicine clinic patient care.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

  • Distribute and collect required health documentation for athlete participation.
  • Monitor pre‑existing health conditions of involved athletes.
  • In the absence of a physician’s order, assist with decisions regarding athlete participation.
  • Assist sports medicine physicians with the care and evaluation of injuries for all sports sponsored by LECOM.
  • Provide game coverage for assigned sports.
  • Assist with recommendations regarding equipment and supplies.
  • Consult in the purchase and fitting of protective equipment and devices.
  • Support learning experiences for health professional trainees and, where appropriate, athletic training students.
  • Assist in formulating and monitoring treatment and rehabilitation plans.
  • Guide athletes regarding the need for physician referral.
  • Coordinate insurance information with the Business Office as related to injuries sustained during athletics.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Course(s)/Training: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology with Diploma or Associate Degree

Membership of the Stroke team includes mandatory hours of education annually specifically related to diagnosis/assessment and management of acute stroke/ cerebrovascular disease.           

Req. Certification/Registration: ARRT (M) is required

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in patient care in the exam room as directed by physician
