In this role you will specialize in providing end-of-life care for residents with terminal illnesses focusing on delivering compassionate, holistic care that addresses not only physical symptoms but also emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs. Their role is to ensure comfort, dignity, and quality of life for patients as they approach the end of life.
LPNs in this role will be required to be cross-trained in all other LPN roles within the facility and may need to assist to rotate coverage in those areas.

The LECOM Institute for Successful Living has an immediate opening for a full-time Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor/Educator (NATCEP). Candidates must possess a valid PA nursing license (RN or LPN). The selected individual will serve as an instructor in a regular classroom and clinical setting, presenting instructions in a state approved Nurse Aide Training Program. The position follows the student from application, through the courses, and provides support through the state examination process, but also acts as an educator for existing and previous Nurse Aide graduates.
Qualifications and Skills
- Must be a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) with at least one-year experience in long-term care facility.
- Must have Teaching the Educator Certification or be eligible for the Teaching the Educator Certification.
- Must have valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Previous teaching experience is a plus.

Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Occupational Therapy Assistant administers medically prescribed occupational therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries and muscle, nerve, joint and bone disease, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability by performing a numbered of required duties for the LECOM Institute for Successful Living, and other LECOM Health entities, in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, regulations, and guidelines to assure that the highest degree of quality care is rendered and LECOM Health’s standard of excellence is achieved.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review physician orders, patient‘s condition, and medical records;
- Review data from the Occupational Therapy evaluation and plan of care including short and long term goals prior to administering treatment;
- Review effective treatment strategies for areas of Activities of Daily Living and Independent Living Skills with the Occupational Therapist;
- Monitor and communicate patient response to occupational therapy treatment;
- Attend meetings in regards to patient care such as care plan meetings, welcome meetings and daily huddles on an as needed basis;
- Assist the Occupational Therapist with patient at discharge including patient and family instruction in safety, mobility, and function;
- Modify Occupational Therapy treatment and plan of care according to patient’s ability and response as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist;
- Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home;
- Record treatment, response, and progress in the electronic medical record. Documentation of patients care and services will adhere to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional guidelines;
- Maintain compliance with appropriate therapy minutes, therapy intensity, and productivity standards on daily basis;
- Adhere to all HIPPA procedures and guidelines in accordance with LECOM Health’s standard of excellence;
- Work as scheduled, ready to devote full attention and energy to the important work of LECOM Health;
- Educate the patient and/or caregivers to enhance functional independence;
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications and establishing personal networks;
- Comply with federal, state and local legal and professional requirements;and

Schedule is Monday-Thursday 11:30am to 10pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
- Produces diagnostic computerized tomography images of optimal quality and assists in interventional computed tomography examinations by using designated imaging systems.
- Correlate patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for reference use.
- Provide superior patient care through explanation of CT procedures and assist with any questions or needs
- Selects appropriate CT protocols and follows ALARA standards for optimal image quality using minimal radiation exposure.
- Prepares contrast agents which are utilized for the CT procedures according to procedural guidelines and protocols, including oral and intravenous routes.
- Prepares sterile trays for specific interventional computed tomography examinations and maintains sterility during those procedures.
- Maintains equipment in efficient and safe operating order through visual and performance checks of equipment, supplies, and accessories; problem solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative regarding equipment problems.
- Completes all quality checks and ensures that equipment logs are maintained.
- Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
- Transports patients to CT scan room; prepares and maintains room for daily activities.
- Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep material on hand at all times.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educations programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- All 1st & 2nd Shift Splits O.R. On-Call between other staff
- Attends meeting as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology with Diploma or Associate Degree
Membership of the Stroke team includes mandatory hours of education annually specifically related to diagnosis/assessment and management of acute stroke/ cerebrovascular disease.
Required Course(s)/Training: Accredited program in Radiologic Technology and training in computerized assisted tomography

Summary:
The Infection Control Nurse performs facility-wide surveillance and data collection as part of an overall infection-control program. He or She would be responsible to investigate possible incidences of infection and implements remedial action, as well as, working with the infection control committee to establish infection control standards and procedures, and educates staff on how to prevent and control infections. The Infection Control Nurse also informs the appropriate state and county organizations of any reportable infections and diseases.

REQUIRED:
- Provides assistance in meeting the daily living needs of patients within the therapeutic setting.
- Directs patient activities designed to improve biopsychosocial functioning.
- Implements identified patient care activities to assigned patients under the direction of nursing staff.
- Documents patient behaviors and deviations on checklist and in narrative on the medical record.
- Demonstrates professional behavior and interactions at all times with patients, family members, other professionals and staff.
- Participates in staff training programs designed to improve professional knowledge and skills that will enhance clinical expertise and patient care.

The Radiologist will examine and diagnose disorders and diseases using x-rays and radioactive materials and may also treat patients. Performs and interprets the outcomes of diagnostic imaging procedures including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computer tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), nuclear cardiology treadmill studies, mammography, and ultrasound. Reviews and transmits images and information using picture archiving and communications systems. Communicates examination results and diagnostic information to referring physicians.

Provide patient care and medication administration utilizing nursing principles while attending to the responsibilities and needs of assigned patients. Utilize established standards of care and unit policies and procedures when making clinically appropriate decisions. Participate in patient care planning by communicating patient information to members of the treatment team. Provide patient education and guidance to address patient problems through admission to discharge. Required:
- Primary responsibility will be to triage patients as they present to the ER and report of such patients to RN and/or ER physician.
- Assists the nurse in tasks requiring less technical skills.
- Adhere to Hospital and Emergency Room policies.
- Will restock, reorder supplies.
- Assure a clean, safe work environment.
- Offer support to patients and families.
- Functions as a Unit Clerk and is able to meet emergency situations with composure within scope of procedure.
Education Requirements:
- Post high school vocational/specialized training
- Current Emergency Medical Technician certificate or EMT required.
- CPR
- Basic Telemetry Course credentialing within 1 year of hire
- Membership of the Stroke team includes mandatory hours of education annually specifically related to diagnosis/assessment and management of acute stroke/cerebrovascular disease.
