Organizes and directs or carries out a program of activities which will provide entertainment, intercommunication, relaxation, opportunity to express creative talent and fulfill basic psychological, social and spiritual needs for all the residents, subject to individual restrictions, limitations, and interests.

Encourages hobbies and craft activities. Provides craft materials and supplies, instructs and supervises residents during craft activities, and complies with safety regulations and policies.

Encourages social communication among residents through group activities and recreation.

Helps in planning parties, provides games and encourages residents to assist in the planning.

Encourages residents to participate in religious activities to fulfill their spiritual needs.

Encourages intellectual/educational development through literature, lectures and cultural events.

Provides reading material and CDs, tapes and digital books for the blind.

Assist in recording of residents’ activities. Assists in admissions, evaluations and MDS process. Writes progress notes as needed.

Must perform as a Universal Worker being cross-trained in housekeeping, dietary, and personal care functions.

Must be flexible to accept other duties as needed or assigned by the resident or institution.

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred

Previous customer service or personal care experience is preferred

Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment physical and criminal background check

SUMMARY:
The LECOM Institute for Successful Aging, an Age-Friendly Health System, is currently looking to hire both a Full-time Van Driver to work 40 hours per week and a Part-time or Per Diem (PRN) Van Driver to work approximately 0-15 hours per week transporting and assisting residents to appointments and activities.
Daytime, Evening and Weekends availabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
- Clean Driving Record.
- Previous work experience as a Driver, required.
- Previous experience transporting people or patients, a plus.

Per Diem employment options may also be available.
Summary:
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of housekeeping duties focusing on cleaning techniques in order to provide a clean, orderly and safe environment; and perform related work as required.

The LECOM Institute for Successful Aging is currently accepting applications and resumes for a Full-time Cook to work at one or more of our senior care facilities.
Summary:
- The cook will prepare bulk food items for the various venues while following recipes to be nutritious, attractive, in proper portions while being responsible with resources. Will also be responsible to report problems and take corrective action to address those issues.
- Possesses knowledge, skills, attitude, and energy to consistently provide resident centered care.
- Maintains and promotes ethical conduct of employees, addresses residents in a friendly manner, creating a safe and productive environment.
- Will manage the schedule, food supply and food production duties in the absence of dietary managers.
- Responsible for daily food preparation to prepare food for multiple venues while following recipes.
- Responsible for food production for catering events, off-premises food services including meals on wheels, LECOM Center for Health and Aging, and other customers as assigned.
- Promotes a safe working environment.
- Read and interpret the Resident’s nutritional requirements via paper or digital platform.
- Promote clinical nutrition through the Dietitian’s management of therapeutic diets, nutritional supplements and the food first philosophy while producing accurate food offerings.
- Educates and guides residents in regards to cost and contents of their selections and provides alternative selections available.
- Ensures health guidelines and company sanitation policies are followed by employees and guests in all dining areas.
- Maintain all documentation and logs for sanitation and food safety compliance purposes.
- Assists the Dietary Manager to facilitate departmental auditing in preparation for annual survey.
