SUMMARY:

  • The Authorization Coordinator is responsible for the insurance and authorization management. Will also provide backup coverage for the Intake Department.
  • Will report to any facility within the LECOM Institute for Successful Living as assigned;
  • Greets people as they call into the Agency, answers general information questions and delivers messages;
  • Obtaining and maintaining approval from insurance beyond the initial authorization;
  • Follow up on approved authorizations versus utilizations;
  • Communication with field staff regarding visit and approved authorizations;
  • Communication with billing and financial department as needed;
  • Types memos, correspondence, agendas, reports as required;
  • Scans and electronically files patient admission information;
  • Photocopying as required;
  • Monitors faxes, forwards to the appropriate people and puts pertinent information received into the patient chart;
  • Develops and implements a tracking system to assure organization and timely submission of required authorizations per patient episode;
  • Maintains communication with the direct supervisor to overcome barriers for job completion;

  • Act as needed as an Intake Associate and assist in the coordination of patient care (associated intake duties below);
  • Receives all intake information for paraprofessional cases and enters the appropriate information in the computer;
  • Completes intake forms and routes them appropriately for admission approval;
  • Receives referral information from Liaison team and passes the referral information to the appropriate staff as soon as possible;
  • Enter referrals the day they are received into Referral Manager;
  • Updates referral board prior to A.M. and P.M. meetings;
  • Places calls to physicians to confirm who will sign orders (document in chart);
  • Places calls to patients to discuss admission and be alerted if patient has an appointment or refuses services;
  • Enter all information relevant for the team to complete admission;
  • Update referral with any changes prior to admission;
  • Confirm F2F date for physician referrals and enter into case communication note;
  • Enter ROC orders, scheduling note, and ROC case communication note and send to appropriate team member;
  • Check insurance for authorization at time of referral. Enter a case communication note into McKesson;
  • Obtain authorization according to insurance requirements within time constraints. Enter insurance communication notes with visit authorizations obtained and send to team members;
  • Monitor authorizations for completion and need for continued authorization requests;
  • Follow up authorization process within 24 hours of receiving notification that forms are complete;
  • Maintain an accurate, timely and daily authorization process and corresponding log to track progress;
  • Must be able to take direction and receive assignments from direct supervisor and other management personnel from time to time; and
  • Accept other duties needed/assigned for the Institution’s needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience equivalent to:

  • High school education
  • Minimum of six months office experience
  • Must possess typing and other clerical skills

This role is tasked with providing a full range of patient care responsibilities for a busy outpatient mental health center. The BH Clinical Assistant I guarantees that each patient visit and the logistical arrangements surrounding the visit are carried out with courtesy, professionalism, and compassion, while assisting the physician in patient care and education. The Clinical Assistant may work with more than one specific physician based on clinic needs each day as well as willingness to work at both LIBH settings. Flexibility in scheduling is preferred as we staff our offices M-Th 8-6:30pm, Friday 8-5. Experience working in behavioral health and/or outpatient office setting is highly preferred.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Direct Patient Care

· Greet patients warmly, escort patients to exam rooms.

· Measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s electronic health record.

· Interview patients to make sure all information in electronic medical record is complete and current, including obtaining all necessary signed documents.

· Assist in patient care in the exam room as directed by physician.

· Perform clinical procedures under supervision of physician.

· Perform screenings per provider guidelines.

· Perform lab draws and administer injections.

· Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding medication and treatment protocol as instructed by physician.

· Keep patients in waiting area informed of any unusual delays in physician’s schedule.

Administrative Patient Care

· Review medical record for progress notes, specialist templates and diagnostic records prior to patient visit.

· Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed, if available, in patient’s electronic health record.

· Schedule appointments, tests, and procedures to provide continuous care for patients.

· Support the obtaining of all necessary authorizations as mandated by patient’s insurance.

· Process prescription refills, and direct/instruct patients and/or family members regarding prescription and treatment instructions according to provider guidelines and orders.

· Aid in coordination and administration of long acting injectables.

· Assist with coordination of Clozaril patient care when requested by Office Lead and/or Clinic Director.

· Support the tracking of patient appointments, tests, and procedures through completion and maintain documentation of efforts in EHR.

· Keep exam rooms and medication storage areas stocked with adequate medical supplies.

· Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.

· Triage for urgency and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians.

· Provide response to patient inquiry and concerns with attention to confidentiality.

· Document all patient interactions and contact in the patient chart.

· Ensure daily documentation meets standards, regulations, policies, and practices.

· Keep appropriate records within patient’s EHR chart.

· Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, etc.)

· All other duties as assigned

Other Duties:

1. Assist in answering phone, scheduling appointments, and calling no-shows.

2. Be familiar with and implement all office policies and procedures.

3. Clean equipment, treatment spaces, etc. between visits to maintain infection control as needed.

4. Attend all office meetings and training sessions on time.

5. Perform a variety of routine clerical duties including but not limited to filing, copying, faxing, sorting mail and posting, etc.

6. Understand and adhere to the professional policies and standards in the Employee Handbook.

7. Act as the Goodwill ambassador for the clinic, the hospital and the LECOM Health System by promoting awareness to the patient of all physicians and services LECOM Health provides.

8. Provide clinical coverage at other locations when needed.

Skills/Knowledge:

· Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette

· Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow

· Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections

· Ability to multi-task

SUMMARY: Coordinates, implements and supports all network and hardware facilities to meet the needs of system users, and hospital administration associated with LECOM Health System’s solutions. Responsible for technical PACS administration.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible in assisting with the configuration, installation, maintenance, and support of servers, workstations, and peripheral equipment.

· Responsible in assisting with the configuration, installation, maintenance, and support of network devices and services, including WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, and firewalls.

· Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.

· Create and maintain meaningful documentation of all information systems.

· Responsible in assisting with the development and training of others in the I.T. Department.

· Evaluate proposed solutions, review options and make recommendations. Ensure the design and integration of proposed systems, software, and hardware solutions leads to efficiency/workflow, patient safety and all security standards.

· Participates in the department on-call rotation. Responsible for receiving, resolving or reporting issues to the parties responsible to resolve any issue during the rotation according to the I.T. on-call policy and procedure.

· Provides emergency or backup on-call assistance in the event of systems failure or scheduled maintenance.

· Performs other related duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as may be required to meet emergency situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related degree, with relevant healthcare I.T. experience.

Minimum Experience: Three years recent experience in network and hardware support, or an associated degree in computer technology and five years experience in network and technical implementations and support.

Minimum Skills: Broad knowledge of systems administration and management, network operating systems, network hardware, software, telecommunications systems and services and backup procedures.

Experience with system planning, development and management of systems which include enterprise directories, email and Internet services. Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documentation. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

The LECOM Institute for Successful Living has an immediate opening for a full-time Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor/Educator (NATCEP). Candidates must possess a valid PA nursing license (RN or LPN). The selected individual will serve as an instructor in a regular classroom and clinical setting, presenting instructions in a state approved Nurse Aide Training Program. The position follows the student from application, through the courses, and provides support through the state examination process, but also acts as an educator for existing and previous Nurse Aide graduates.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be a licensed nurse (RN or LPN) with at least one-year experience in long-term care facility.
  • Must have Teaching the Educator Certification or be eligible for the Teaching the Educator Certification.
  • Must have valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Previous teaching experience is a plus.

The Clinical Practices of LECOM Institute for Successful Living is seeking a full time Office Coordinator for our growing multi-specialty physician office. This position is responsible for greeting patients as they check-in and offer them friendly and prompt assistance while coordinating the patients' care. While patients check-out will review the provider’s orders to determine the necessary treatment plan, by scheduling follow up appointments and / or diagnostic testing and collecting outstanding balances for coinsurances. This individual will assist in authorizations and office duties. This individual will also assist with incoming patients, phone calls, and other duties as needed.

We are seeking a Full Time Vascular Ultrasound Tech for a Multi-Specialty Primary Care office who is responsible to perform non-invasive and general ultrasound procedures that require independent judgement and operation of sonographic equipment while providing optimal service outcomes and hospitality to the patients we serve. The ideal candidate:

  • Provides initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments of the patient’s needs.
  • Establishes a treatment plan in consultation with the physician and revises it with the approval of the physician as necessary.
  • Assists in development and implementation of the interdisciplinary patient care plan as it pertains to Physical Therapy
  • Assists the physician in evaluating patients by applying diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability tests.
  • Treats patients to relieve pain, develop or restore functional and maintain maximum performance, using physical means, such as exercise, massage, heat, water, light and electricity.

Qualifications:

  • Must have graduated from a Physical Therapist curriculum accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), or its successor organizations.
  • Must be licensed in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Must have at least one year of institutional/home health experience
  • Must have current CPR certification
