C. Provides clinical evaluation of clinical personnel employed by the clinic.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. Completion of an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine.

Licensure and Certifications: Board-certified or board-eligible in Emergency Medicine (preferred) by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) or American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). General Summary:

· Under general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer and in collaboration with the managerial team, the position is responsible for providing medical services to the patients of LECOM Health Medical Associates of Erie. Responsibilities include educating patients on their surgical options, preparing patients for surgery and leading surgeries as needed

Main Functions:

· Performing surgical procedures to address various medical needs for their patients

· Examine patients and make diagnoses to determine the need for surgery

· Review patient medical history and plan the best procedure for treatment

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Evaluate and advise patients on the risk involved with having surgery

· Perform surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury, disease, deformities and patient function while adhering to regulatory and ethical protocols

· Follow established surgical techniques during surgery

· Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatment and procedures

· Ensure sterility in the operating room, and all equipment and instruments

· Direct and coordinate activities of hospital staff for proper patient care

· Oversee all treatment prior to and post-surgery, and identify associated risks

Job summary:

Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for patients suffering from injuries and muscle, nerve, joint and bone disease, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability by performing a numbered of required duties.

Characteristic job tasks and responsibilities:                           

• Review physician orders, patient‘s condition, and medical records.
• Review data from the Physical Therapy evaluation and plan of care including short and long term goals prior to administering treatment.
• Review effective treatment strategies for areas of strength, endurance, and functional mobility with the Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and communicate patient response to physical therapy treatment.
• Assist the Physical Therapist with patient at discharge including patient and family instruction in safety, mobility and function.
• Modify physical therapy treatment and plan of care according to patient’s ability and response as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
• Record treatment, response, and progress in the electronic medical record.
• Record daily treatment charges.
