Medical Associates of Erie is currently seeking a full time Front Desk Receptionist for a busy Physician Practice. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

  1. Check voicemail line in the morning and retrieve messages
  2. Welcomes and greets all patients and visitors
  3. Answers phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette
  4. Schedule patient appointments, make reminder calls, call patients who missed their appointments (no shows)
  5. Responsible for keeping the reception area clean and organized
  6. Facilitates patient flow by notifying physician of patients’ arrival and communicating with patients and clinical staff of unforeseen service delays
  7. ”Check in” patients as they arrive in a courteous manner. Responds to patient inquires in a professional and respectful manner.
  8. Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by collecting detailed patient information
  9. Verifies patient’s address, phone, insurance and email address each visit
  10. Collection of patient balances for services provided (co-pay, prior balances etc)
  11. Copy insurance cards
  12. Verify patient insurance eligibility prior to patient appointments
  13. Reconcile daily payments at the end of the day
  1. Protects patient confidentiality by making sure PHI is secured; not leaving PHI in plain sight of patients/visitors and logging off computer before leaving it unattended
  2. All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

Skills/Knowledge:

  • High School or GED
  • Previous experience in an office setting
  • Knowledge of clinical procedures and medical terminology
  • Basic word, excel
  • Telephone etiquette/customer service skills
  • Previous scheduling experience using an electronic scheduling system/electronic health record preferred

WEEKENDS ARE REQUIRED

Under the direct supervision of the members of the supervisory staff, the Dietary Aide performs a variety of patient food service and dish room duties and other related tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assembles prepared food on trays for general and therapeutic diets.

2. Maintains tray line in a clean, neat and orderly manner.

3. Delivers food trucks to patient floors as specified. Returns them to the dish room at designated.

4. Tends and loads dish machine in patient/employee dish room.

5. Washes certain items by hand such as pot, pans and utensils.

6. Disposes of trash and garbage as scheduled. Cleans and sanitizes trash

containers as they are emptied.

7. Cleans and sanitizes all food and supply carts in the department at the end of each shift.

8. Is responsible for cleaning all work tables and surrounding work areas in the dish room and pot washing area at the end of each meal period. Sanitizes after cleaning.

9. Sweeps and mops floors throughout the department at designated times.

10. Maintains clean and sanitary dining areas prior to and following each meal period.

11. Assists in preparing such items as salads, dessert or nourishments.

12. Assists in the storage of food and supplies following deliveries using the first-in, first-out method.

13. Prepares and delivers late trays as instructed.

14. Performs heavy cleaning following the cleaning schedule.

15. Assists in the set-up, service and clean-up of special meetings and functions.

16. Must maintain a current record of attendance to the required inservices as determined by the institution on an annual basis.

Job Summary:

To register patients throughout all departments of Corry Memorial Hospital in compliance with the LECOM Health Corry Memorial Hospital policies and procedures. 

characteristic job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Register patients and update existing patient demographics by collecting detailed information including personal and financial information along with correct system information.
  • Confirm and verify insurance benefits with the appropriate carrier via eligibility verification and/or appropriate insurance websites.
  • Scan insurance card, driver’s license and order(s).
  • Print face sheet(s), labels and apply arm bands on patients.
  • Validate physician’s order for all appropriate information.
  • Contact physician’s office if there is no order on file/or need new standing order.
  • Collect any co-payments due.
  • Complete all applicable forms and necessary communications while obtaining signature for consent to treatment and financial responsibility, HIPPA and Photo Consents.
  • Notify departments of patient’s arrival.
  • Direct patients to appropriate department for testing.
  • File orders in drawer alphabetically as they come in from fax machine.

  • Late Add Ons are registered if not done by pre-reg/insurance verification.
  • Greet, interview triage, and register ER patients; including obtaining all signatures, updating demographical information, and verifying insurance eligibility.
  • Perform Cashier functions by collecting co-payments, counting cash drawer, providing change.
  • Assist with outpatient registration, obtaining medical records, all intercoms, switch board after departmental business hours, and paging of physicians.
  • Provide Clerical Assistance for the Emergency Department by scanning, filing, obtaining records, and completing tear down chart
  • Distribute OBS Brochures as necessary.
  • Assist Emergency Room Nurse and Physician as requested; such as assisting patients per RN or Physician instruction, obtaining wheelchairs, collecting urine specimens, cleaning beds, and copying charts for transfers.
  • Assist Ambulance Service as needed; such as answering phone, open/close garage door, meet as they arrive, answer Ambulance Med patch.
  • Set up arrangements for transfer by calling Transfer Center as well as helicopter transports.
  • Monitor panel alarms and security cameras.
  • Announce Fire Alarms.
  • Notify departments of Cardiac Arrest.
  • Contact on call Administrative personnel as needed.
  • Assist in finding nursing staff coverage when needed.
  • Complete transfer sheets and daily counts for Administration office.
  • Assist Acute Care Unit with scanning living wills and POA’s.
  • Verify room and bed census with nursing floors nightly.
  • Call outside services such as Poison Control and Chaplain as needed.
  • Snow removal and/or salting when needed.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by Revenue Cycle Manager.

Position Summary:

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluation, planning, directing and administering occupational therapy modalities of treatment as prescribed by a licensed physician in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability.

Characteristic Job Tasks and Responsibilities:                           

  • Review physician orders, patient‘s condition and medical records to determine occupational therapy treatment required.
  • Plan and implement written treatment programs based on evaluations and patient data.
  • Test and measure patient’s development, sensory perception, and functional capacity.
  • Assess and implement treatment based on level of function and learning needs.
  • Identify and evaluate the effects of treatment at various stages of rehabilitation and adjust the treatment to achieve the maximum benefit for the patient.
  • Be involved with family education activities that promote community living and well-being.
  • Educate the patient and/or caregivers to enhance functional independence.
  • Record treatment, response, and progress in the electronic medical record.
  • Adhere to all HIPPA procedures and guidelines in accordance with LECOM Health’s standard of excellence.
  • Direct work activities of assistants.
  • Meets the patient's goals and needs and provides quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
  • Assures continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
  • Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects hospital operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains open communication with Director Of Rehabilitation regarding scheduling and changes
  • Attends required hospital meetings.
  • Performs other duties as requested by Supervisor.

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting and/or emergency setting.
