We are experiencing an increased demand for our therapy services. This position will require that care to patients be provided in accordance with the physician’s orders on an as needed basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and experience equivalent to:

  • Must be licensed SLP in Pennsylvania
  • Must have at least one year of institutional experience
  • The education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in the appropriate area granted by the American Speech and Hearing Association or
  • The educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification.
  • A Master’s degree in speech-language pathology preferred.
  • A member of the American-Speech Language and Hearing Association preferred.
  • Must have current CPR certification.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and proof of valid auto insurance.

Schedule is Monday-Thursday 11:30am to 10pm

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  •  Produces diagnostic computerized tomography images of optimal quality and assists in interventional computed tomography examinations by using designated imaging systems.
  • Correlate patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for reference use.
  • Provide superior patient care through explanation of CT procedures and assist with any questions or needs
  • Selects appropriate CT protocols and follows ALARA standards for optimal image quality using minimal radiation exposure.
  • Prepares contrast agents which are utilized for the CT procedures according to procedural guidelines and protocols, including oral and intravenous routes.
  • Prepares sterile trays for specific interventional computed tomography examinations and maintains sterility during those procedures.
  • Maintains equipment in efficient and safe operating order through visual and performance checks of equipment, supplies, and accessories; problem solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative regarding equipment problems.
  • Completes all quality checks and ensures that equipment logs are maintained.
  • Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Transports patients to CT scan room; prepares and maintains room for daily activities.
  • Requests and orders supplies as necessary to keep material on hand at all times.
  • Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educations programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
  • All 1st & 2nd Shift Splits O.R. On-Call between other staff
  • Attends meeting as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education:  Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology with Diploma or Associate Degree

Membership of the Stroke team includes mandatory hours of education annually specifically related to diagnosis/assessment and management of acute stroke/ cerebrovascular disease.

 

Required Course(s)/Training: Accredited program in Radiologic Technology and training in computerized assisted tomography

  • Req. Certification/Registration: ARRT (R) is required;

                                                                    CT registry is preferred, but not required

 

  • Physical Demands: Lifts, positions, pushes and/or transfers patients

                                              Lifts supplies/equipment

 

  • Working Conditions: Subject to electrical and radiant energy hazards

Summary:

The Infection Control Nurse performs facility-wide surveillance and data collection as part of an overall infection-control program. He or She would be responsible to investigate possible incidences of infection and implements remedial action, as well as, working with the infection control committee to establish infection control standards and procedures, and educates staff on how to prevent and control infections. SUMMARY:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare, review, and transmit facility and professional claims using billing software and clearinghouse, including electronic and paper claim processing within payer filing limits.
  • Ensure rejected claims are reviewed, corrected, and reprocessed timely.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims and contact payers on various issues within standard billing cycle timeframe.
  • Review payments for accuracy; be able to spot check for 100% reimbursement on charges, and excessively low payment.
  • Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurance payers as appropriate.
  • Answers all patients, providers, or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts and work to resolve them effectively.
  • Timely follow up on insurance claim denials, exceptions or exclusions.
  • Stays informed on local regulations and changes in billing requirements.
  • Make necessary arrangements for medical record requests, completion of additional information requests, appeals, etc. as requested by insurance companies.
  • Regularly meet with Patient Accounting Leader to discuss and resolve reimbursement issues or billing obstacles.
  • Regularly attend department huddles and meetings.
  • Perform additional duties as requested.

Minimum Education:

Minimum of associate degree required.

Minimum Experience:

Minimum of one to three years of experience in medical or hospital billing, hospital billing preferred.

Minimum Skills:

  • Demonstrate reliability and a sense of urgency in completing tasks quickly and in a timely manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills. Conceptual understanding of financial record keeping and medical billing procedures.
  • Competent use of computer systems, software (including Microsoft Office), and 10 key calculators.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Reviews Physician’s referral (prescription) and patient’s condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.

2. Tests and measures patient’s strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment.

3. Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data.

4. Administers manual exercises to improve and maintain function.

5. Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various physical activities and in use of assistant and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.

6. Administers treatments involving application of physical agents.

7. Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatment to achieve maximum benefit.

8. Administers massage. Administers traction to relieve pain.

9. Records treatment, response, and progress in patient’s chart or enters information into computer.

10. Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.

11. Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends modification to Orthotist.

12. Confers with Physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggests revisions in treatment programs, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient’s health care.

13. Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of assistants, aides, and students.

14. Plans and conducts lectures and training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups.

15. Perform other duties as assigned or requested.

We are seeking a dedicated Neuropsychologist to join our growing team to utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques and approaches to provide essential counseling and treatment services to individuals in need due to memory disorders, traumatic brain injury or neurodegenerative disorders.

This position would provide these services primarily at the four Skilled Nursing Facilities of LECOM Institute for Successful Living located in Erie, PA as well as provide coverage at our four Personal Care Homes.

Duties

  • Perform evaluations that combine tests of behavior, cognition, and emotional functioning.
  • Conduct patient assessments to determine needs, provide treatment recommendations and develop appropriate care plans.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions
  • Implement behavioral therapy interventions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Participate in case management activities to support patients' well-being
  • Manage and update patient records accurately


Qualifications

  • Licensed Psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Doctoral degree in Psychology or Neuropsychology from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association

$5,200 Sign on Bonus with less than 2 years of experience

REQUIRED: Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control policies. Cleans and prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning. Monitors and restocks supplies. Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel. Demonstrates sensitivity to patient’s comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress. Monitors emotional stability of patients and reports changes to physician or charge nurse.
