Job Overview: 

The Radiologist provides diagnostic and interventional imaging services, including image interpretation, procedure performance, and consultative support. The role ensures timely, accurate reports, collaborates with referring clinicians, and supports radiation safety and quality initiatives. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Clinical Imaging: 

  • Interpret radiographic, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine studies per privileges. 
  • Perform image-guided procedures (e.g., biopsies, drainages) as applicable. 
  • Prioritize and communicate critical findings in accordance with policy. 

Quality & Safety: 

  • Promote ALARA principles and radiation safety. 
  • Participate in peer review, protocol optimization, and equipment QA in collaboration with medical physicists and technologists. 

Collaboration & Service: 

  • Provide timely consults to referring providers and participate in multidisciplinary conferences. 
  • Support coverage schedules, including call and teleradiology, as assigned. 

Education & Development: 

  • Educate patients and staff regarding imaging procedures and risks/benefits. 
  • Maintain CME relevant to subspecialty and emerging imaging technologies. 

Documentation & Compliance: 

  • Create clear, accurate, and timely reports in the RIS/PACS and EHR. 
  • Comply with accrediting and regulatory requirements (e.g., ACR, Joint Commission). 

Qualifications: 

Education & Training: 

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution. 
  • Completion of an ACGME- or AOA-accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency. 
  • Fellowship training preferred for subspecialty roles (e.g., neuroradiology, IR). 

Licensure & Certifications: 

  • Unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license (or eligibility). 
  • Board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology. 
  • BLS/ACLS as required by privileging entity. 

Experience & Skills: 

  • Proficiency with PACS/RIS and voice recognition reporting. 
  • Strong communication skills and service orientation. 
  • Commitment to radiation safety and quality improvement. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged sitting/standing at workstations; repetitive keyboard use. 
  • Fine motor skills for procedures and device manipulation. 
  • Ability to assist in transferring or positioning patients for procedures. 
  • Use of PPE and adherence to MRI/IR safety protocols as applicable.
