Corry, Pa. (February 11, 2026) — LECOM Health Corry Memorial Hospital (CMH) and City of Corry Police Department today announced a new partnership wherein Corry Memorial Hospital is helping fund a City of Corry police officer to help keep the Corry community and the hospital safe.
The agreement, which went into effect Jan. 1, 2026, states that the City of Corry Police Department has “primary jurisdiction for policing over properties owned and operated by CMH in the city of Corry.” The police department and security at CMH have agreed to partner to ensure the safety of all CMH staff, patients and visitors.
“Because the safety of our patients and staff comes first, we’re proud to introduce enhanced security measures that offer greater peace of mind inside our facilities, as well as help create a safer community with the addition of a new police officer,” said LECOM Health Regional President Danielle Hansen, D.O.
A few highlights of the police officer’s duties at CMH:
- Patrols specific areas of the CMH campus often and at random
- Promptly responds to all calls from CMH for service, conducts investigations, and files criminal charges when necessary
- Conducts safety check-ins with CMH staff
“We look forward to providing the enhanced security measures and increased police presence to the LECOM Health Corry Memorial Hospital campus and all members of the Corry Community,” said City of Corry Police Chief Jordon Kitchen. “The CMH team has been great to work with on this collaboration and their dedication to the safety and wellbeing of their staff, patients and campus really allowed this partnership to come to fruition. Adding a new member to our force will be beneficial to all.”
According to the agreement, CMH pays the City of Corry the total amount of $85,000 for calendar year Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2026, to fund a police officer.
