Erie, Pa. (April 9, 2025) — LECOM Health today held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for LECOM Medical Center and Behavioral Health Pavilion’s new Emergency Department, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, Medical/Surgical Unit, and Intensive Care Unit.
The first floor of the new 34,000-square-foot addition accommodates a new emergency department with eight treatment rooms, two trauma rooms, and six patient rooms dedicated to behavioral health. It also includes a 3,160-square-foot, state-of-the-art catheterization lab with three pre- and post-op bays, as well as an operating room with advanced imaging equipment for heart catheterizations.
The second floor houses a critical care unit with six private rooms, and a medical/surgical patient room suite of 14 patient suites – two of which are private acuity flex to the Intensive Care Unit.

The ceremony was followed by guided tours of the new addition. The official opening of the emergency department will take place Wednesday, April 16.
