“Script Your Future Campaign” includes free educational events
Drug Take Back Day scheduled for March 18
ERIE, PA (March 7, 2023) – Students from the LECOM School of Pharmacy are hosting a campaign throughout March to raise awareness about the importance of taking medications as directed to properly manage health problems. The “Script Your Future” campaign is part of a national effort to educate the public on the importance of medication adherence for both patients and healthcare professionals. The campaign focuses on chronic disease states, vaccine confidence, disease stigma, and over-the-counter medication safety.
Dr. Rachel Ogden, dean of the LECOM School of Pharmacy said, “It’s crucial that our pharmacy students learn the importance of the role they have in helping patients understand their conditions and medications. The ‘Script Your Future’ campaign is an opportunity for us to reach Erie residents and help educate them about taking their prescribed medications, and how’s it’s an important step to a longer, healthier life.”
Several events are planned in which LECOM students, faculty, and other healthcare professionals will cover a series of topics related to medications and health and wellness, including sharing the acronym, W.A.L.K., which stands for wellness, adherence, lifestyle, and knowledge.
