CORRY, Pa. (December 16, 2025) — LECOM Health Corry Memorial Hospital has successfully launched a Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET/CT) Amyloid imaging program in partnership with Vantage Mobile Services to assist in the diagnostic assessment of cognitive impairment. CMH is the first of Vantage’s facilities to offer advanced neurology PET CT imaging.
A Neuraceq® amyloid PET scan is a type of medical brain imaging approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Doctors use it to find a buildup of amyloid in the brain, which can be an indicator of Alzheimer’s disease. The brain scans can help doctors determine the possible cause of memory problems and guide therapeutic interventions.
“We are thrilled to offer the Neuraceq PET scan because knowing a diagnosis gives patients the opportunity to plan ahead and receive treatment with FDA-approved amyloid-targeting therapies,” said Danielle Hansen, D.O., Regional President of LECOM Health. “Corry Memorial Hospital launched its mobile PET/CT exams in April 2022 to identify cancer, in addition to certain diseases of the brain, such as Alzheimer’s disease. LECOM Health continues to explore advancements in diagnostic care and innovative treatments to pave the way toward wellness and whole-body care.”
With Alzheimer’s disease, sticky clumps of protein build up in the brain, affecting the way the brain works. Neuraceq is a radioactive tracer designed to stick to beta-amyloid neuritic plaques in the brain for a short time. When used with PET scanning to create an image of a brain, Neuraceq can reveal the presence or absence of beta-amyloid plaque.
Robust clinical trials have been completed with no reported serious adverse reactions. The scans demonstrated a safety profile with a low radiation dose (lower than a typical chest CT scan) and a wide, stable and flexible scanning window of 45 to 130 minutes, and a 15- to 20-minute scan time, making the process quick and convenient for patients.
Providers may schedule the PET/CT though Vantage scheduling at 866-251-0710.
