Healthcare Career Expo Tips for Job Seekers

We’re excited to meet you at the Healthcare Career Expo on May 13, 2024, at the Bayfront Convention Center! To help you to be as prepared as possible, here are a few tips* to ensure you make the most of the event.

  1. Prior to attending the career expo, research the employers that will be there. Learn about what kind of candidates they are looking for and what job openings they have.

  2. Update your resume, and ask someone to proofread it for errors. Be sure to include measurable results where applicable.

  3. Bring several printed resumes (and business cards if appropriate) to hand out at the event.

  4. Be prepared to have a mini-interview with every recruiter you speak with at the event.

  5. Anticipate common interview questions, and practice your responses.

  6. Prepare examples that showcase your skills and accomplishments.

  7. Prepare an “elevator pitch” about why someone should hire you.

  8. Make a plan for which employers you want to speak to that day.

  9. Dress professionally.

  10. Bring your shining personality and enthusiasm.

  11. After the event, follow up with an email.
