Millcreek Community Hospital, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking a motivated Human Resources Specialist to join our team.

SUMMARY:

Coordinates HR Department’s functions; upholds HR policies, facilitates HR functions of recruiting, hiring, and terminating employees, assists with the HR manager for salary administration, developing and updating personnel policies, and employee relations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working under the HR Manager, organizes, coordinates, and assists in directing the operations and functions of HR department.
  • Assists in the selection, training/orientation and assigning of department staff (either directly or through subordinate supervisor).
  • Facilitates achievement of department goals and objectives, and with the HR Manager’s approval establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation.
  • Assists with the preparation and maintenance of department reports. Prepares periodic reports for top management, as required.
  • Assists with planning, coordinating and administering policies relating to all phases of hospital personnel activities.
  • Helps to interpret hospital policies and regulations to new employees, arranges for physical examinations, and conducts or advises on training programs.
  • In coordination with the HR manager, establishes and maintains uniform employment policies and confers with department heads and supervisors to discuss improvement of working relationships and conditions.
  • Initiates and recommends policies and procedures necessary to achieve the objectives of the hospital and ensure maximum utilization and stability of personnel.
  • Assist with the investigation of disputes and grievances and recommends corrective action.
  • Administers benefit services and other employer-employee programs. Initiates and implements employee suggestions and performance evaluation system.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Participates in hospital/medical staff committee meetings as required. Attends and serves on professional/civic service organizations as hospital representative.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
