LECOM Senior Living Center offers a unique philosophy to patient wellness through an original design for the next generation of seniors.

LECOM Senior Living Center is positioned on a health and wellness campus centrally located in Erie, PA. The campus features a teaching hospital, medical wellness and fitness center, inpatient and outpatient therapy settings, advanced wound center with hyperbaric chambers and now a state of the art skilled nursing facility.

The five-story hospitality oriented facility features a beautiful entrance with heated sidewalks promoting safety and helping to prevent falls. Well-designed and maintained walk off mats reduce the opportunities to slip and fall. There is a fully staffed concierge and security team to greet all 138 patients and families as they enter the 151,000 square foot building. The solid neutral color throughout creates a tranquil environment. The hallways are clear and have special lighting and flooring facilitating healing by design.

On the first floor it houses our expanded Institute for Successful Aging, geriatric outpatient center, therapy gym, restaurant, and full service beauty salon and spa.

The second through fifth floor are complete with two neighborhoods each comprised of 18 private rooms. Each neighborhood is specially designed with a restaurant style dining, space for activities of daily living and family lounge rooms. The facility will entail highly trained therapist that deliver flexible programming for short-term rehabilitation, which includes physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Each private room is clinically and architecturally designed to be non-permeable and hypoallergenic which offers a healthy and safe environment for each patient. The overhead lifts are strategically placed and designed for convenient resident access into the private, spa like bathroom in each room. The rooms will also come with customized furniture including, a convertible love seat, personal vanity, lift chair and flat screen television. Each room will boast the privacy and dignity each patient deserves.

An onsite pharmacy with full time clinical pharmacist is available in order to decrease delays and increase services. A team of physicians are available 24 hours a day for all emergences and will seek to provide a higher level of care not found in a typical skilled nursing facility. The center also offers and emergency generator that will be able to serve all the skilled nursing home functions in the event of a power outage.

LECOM has been a leader in the development of innovative medical education. The LECOM Senior Living Center will allow our students to experience a new integrated teaching model. Medical, Pharmacy, and Dental students will be involved in the Senior Living Center and our patients will benefit from their knowledge providing the right care at the right time.
